Every day i find another reason to like Firefox more.

Today it was the extension for closing a tab via doubleclick, like in myIE2.

The only thing that annoys me is how .pdf files & firefox don't get along so well.
But that's minor.

If I display a .pdf in a new tab it crashes when I try to close the tab.

More than likely, that's a problem with Acrobat not Moz. I used to have that problem, running Acrobat Reader 6. I downgraded to 5.1, a lot of people feel that version is more stable. Also remove un-necessary Acrobat plug-ins, then it will load faster. Now it cleanly unloads when I close a tab/window in Moz/Firefox with an embedded .PDF. Before, I had to open up Task Manager and kill the acroread.exe process before Moz would close completely, after closing the last window.

Hmm... anybody know when a final version is set to be released? I like firefox and all, its definitely the fastest, but I really hate using anything thats not final.

I'm using Mozilla 1.6 right now and would never move back to IE. The only reason why I even have IE installed are for specific activex apps and download redirections(mozilla still has trouble handling some files).

My setup right now is just too good, I don't want to mess with it until its worthwhile :)

Tab browsing + Popup blocker + Fewer vulnerabilites = The Win

firefox .9 and mozilla 1.6 rocks. Use it as my primary browser, and laugh everytime IE has another security problem.

Lately the only time I use IE is to.... patch IE!

i dont believe any of mozilla's projects are final versions.

for firefox, i believe each 0.x is milestone and they're trying to complete the roadmap of what has been planned by version 1.0.

How do I prevent images from automatically resizing themselves so they fit in the screen?

Is anyone having website login problems? I am using Firefox .91 and with some websites (such as sprintpcs.com), I cannot log into my account. says my username/password is invalid. But it works fine in IE. anyone else seen this behavior before?

Evilmage, still can't find it. I hate when I'm about to be show how stupid I am.

But if someone shows me how stupid I am, I can at least be a little smarter the next time around. : P

sorry, it is different in firefox

in options, go to advanced, then under multimedia, there's a checkbox for 'resize large images to fit in browser window'

It could be several things. First of all, trying installing the "User Agent Switcher" extension, and set it up to report back to the web site that you are actually using IE. If the site works at that point, then it was just keeping you out due to "browser discrimination".

The other possibilities, are that it had to load some sort of ActiveX control onto the client side to authenticate. Another possibility is that it is using an authentication method that is IE-proprietary. I know that Mozilla added support for NTLM authentication recently, I don't know if Firefox is using that code yet or not.

You might try downloading the entire Mozilla suite, and seeing if you can access the site with that. Also trying Opera. If it works with Opera, but not Moz or Firefox, then you might want to report it as a bug on Bugzilla.

Otherwise, you might send an e-mail to that site, asking why Mozilla or Firefox doesn't work on their site, and see what they say.

The only sites that I've not been able to use with Firefox, are MS's own "Windows Update" site, and similar. Then again, I don't do online-banking at all, it's possible that some of those sites don't work either with Firefox either, but they most likely are coded intentionally to do so, not because of bugs in Firefox.

Frankly, given the state of IE exploits these days, and that really nasty thing recently going around (that has hit banking sites too!), I would be terrified to use IE these days. (Well, not really "terrified", but it seems like a really stupid idea on the whole. Kind of like driving drunk, and hoping that you make it home safely. I would rather "drive sober" on the internet, with Mozilla/Firefox and friends.)
