I hated the Exorcist - not scary, and kind of irresponsible.
The Exorcist was an unnerving movie for some of those raised in religious households.
But the best part was showing how millions of religilous Americans just aren't that smart, and quite given to mass hysteria given the proper motivation. Exorcism had faded away before the movie, after the movie it became hip again, and suddenly thousands of possessed people were just everywhere. Of course churches were OK with playing along if it meant more attendance and maybe even some press coverage. Uber fraud Kenneth Copeland blowing away covid19 ain't got nothing on southern baptists joining in on all the exorcism fun. Truly, quite hilarious.
