I hated the Exorcist - not scary, and kind of irresponsible.

The Exorcist was an unnerving movie for some of those raised in religious households.

But the best part was showing how millions of religilous Americans just aren't that smart, and quite given to mass hysteria given the proper motivation. Exorcism had faded away before the movie, after the movie it became hip again, and suddenly thousands of possessed people were just everywhere. Of course churches were OK with playing along if it meant more attendance and maybe even some press coverage. Uber fraud Kenneth Copeland blowing away covid19 ain't got nothing on southern baptists joining in on all the exorcism fun. Truly, quite hilarious.

Hated Avengers Infinity War (i.e. Mass Effect 3--The Movie) and the just as ludicrous Endgame which brought them back to life.

All the Transformers but the first one. I thought that movie was awesome, but the copy and paste storyline got tiring.

That was one of the few movies that I have ever seen that left me really....disturbed for quite some time.

Prometheus was ruined by reaching for too much portentious signficicance, when the first movie was just 'blue-collar truckers in space coping with a difficult job for a crappy employer' and the second was just 'the Vietnam war in space'. They didn't get too precious and pretentious and weren't preoccupied with trying to carefully-manage a valuable studio property and future revenue-stream, hence worked much better.

I didn't mind the direction they went with, I had problem with inconsistent behaviour of the characters that broke suspension of disbelief.

The "oh look an alien snake, I need to hold it" part was the point I think I gave up on that movie. Just, wtf. A lot of potential there, and I feel it was largely wasted.

yeah, that was the point it totally lost it.

You guys remember how gobsmacked we all were when T2 came out? I get why people dig movies like that. Something like the Boondock Saints for instance? Nope. Not sure if I hate it, but..no, wait, I am. I do hate that movie. It's a pile of pretentious horseshit with bad accents and worse acting.

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

I loved Prometheus and I hate all of you!

well, that story actually pre-dates anything from Mass Effect by a couple of decades, and I'd say the existence of Bioware. So...it's completely the other way around.

At least acknowledge that it must have been stupid to do what all comics have always done, back in the 70s and 80s (like bringing Jean Grey back from death after several years), before they just made a film version of it. :D

Your post makes me sad. Prometheus insults our intelligence and you don't see that.

You'll come around someday and you'll be ashamed of your previous opinion.

Update: nope. I still know what I'm talking about. Ashamed for you folks that can't get beyond simple literality in every piece of content that you approach in order to enjoy it.

:D

How dare you!

I AM SPARTA!!!!

300 was ok, but Spartan worship needs to stop. People who want an example of duty and sacrifice should look up the Battle of Saragarhi. No homosexuals cut out of history and no one involved supported a slavery state that ran something like the krypteia. Plus, the bad guys there were basically Taliban. Proper Alamo shit.

Makes me wish I could grow a beard.
