Starship Troopers

Any type of romance movie, in which all of the little teenage girls in my class go "I want to see that, it looks so good!"
And then I tell them: "It looks just like another romance movie, where little teenage girls say the things described above."
And then they say: "No, it's really deep. You just wouldn't understand. You must like action movies, not talking movies."
Me: "Talking movies?"
Little teenage girls: "Yeah, movies where they talk the whole time. You know, samrt movies."
Me: "Romance movies aren't smart movies, unless it is the producer who is smart because he gets your money."
Little teenage girls: "Oh, you will never understand!"
Me: "Ok, so show me. I'll take you to see it, then I may understand."
Little teenage girls: "Hell. no." :disgust:

Haha...I don't know a single person who recommends watching "Dude, Where's My Car?"

Anyway, here's my list of horror flicks that are supposed to be some of the scariest, but I find not scary in the least:

The Shining
Event Horizon
Evil Dead 2 (Not really supposed to be scary, but is a cult classic for some reason)
Stir of Echoes

And the most boring movie (and book. I own the book and have tried reading it 3 times so far, only to get about 100 pages into the book and getting so bored of it, it's painful) I've ever seen which got the greatest reviews:

The English Patient

i hated titanic .. i hate all of that decaprio's movies.. he is soooo bad at acting.. even on those japanese commercials..

Titanic
Star Wars
Lord of the Rings(I'll admit to not seeing this one, but from the trailer, I won't)

<< The Matrix was the single greatest movie ever made....I don't know what you guys are talking about. >>

Not even close. Don't get me wrong, I love the movie, but it's not anywhere close to Citizen Kane, Casablanca, Pulp Fiction (thought I'd sneak that one in there)

So many haters in here!! Geez, I can't think of any movies that I *hate*. There are some I probably won't ever watch again <cough>Pay It Forward<cough> but I don't hate them. Some movies are better than others, but there's usually at least something redeeming/entertaining in all of them.

More than one person said Dumb & Dumber... how on earth could you hate that movie?!?!?! 😕

Mock - ing!
Bird - yeah!
yeah! - yeah!

and Cruel Intentions is sort of a guilty pleasure (you know what scene I'm talking about) and the Matrix is awesome because it can go as shallow or as deep as you want it to. American Beauty is such a refreshing view of real life, and a real upper of a movie IMHO.

Maybe the thread should be Movies that you feel have the fewest redeeming qualities, even though it appears that most "other" people liked them.

Because luv2chill is right. I mean, c'mon! How many of us actually want to spend our energy HATING a movie? Plus I see a lot of petty rebellion in here, what with the people saying that they don't like LOTR, Star Wars, The Matrix.... More than that, they are claiming that they HATE those movies. Again, a proposition that seems revisionist and presented herein to enhance the critic's "too cool for you" factor.

It was hard for me reply to this thread because I really couldn't think of a movie that I *hated*. But I think I remember one.
"The Talented Mr. Ripley". Good god this movie as a pathetic piece of horse sh!t.

Oh, and I still hate Chris Tucker and other than "The 5th Element", I'll avoid any movie with him in it like the plauge.

Lock Stock and Two Smoking barrels (no entertainment purpose whatsoever)
American Beauty
Citizen Kane (ugh, dont even get me started)
Castaway (decent movie, but nothing I wet myself over)

Titanic, any Pearl Harbor movie made after Midway, almost any Tom Cruise or Kevin Costner flick, what the hell was that Mel Gibson longhaired kilt-wearin' Scottich war epic movie...
and most of the other above-mentioned flicks with the exceptions of Dumb and Dumber and the Matrix.

"Hate" is employed here in the generic sense...don't look too much into it. Here, "hate" means, "I don't care if I never see that movie again".
