You know, the movie that when you first saw it made you go "Whoa, now that's cool" usually some tech thing or something, but if you watch it now most, if not all, of it is laughable.

There are a few Bond flicks I can name, but I'm going to go with Rising Sun.

I saw it was on the FX channel. I remeber thinking when I first saw the movie how "@!!~#@ awesome" it was how they "magically" removed the guy from the security tape. Still an alright detective story, but today I couldn't help but think "photoshop! Avid!" when I got to that scene with Tia Carrera :)

Same here, I was watching rising sun last night too! Yea I also found it terribly interesting in rising sun how they had video backups on cds.. They didn't even have burners until at least 1996 (that CD burner in 1982 doesn't count!)

I saw ads for burners when I was in high school, and I graduated in 1995. They were very expensive, though.

lots of old movies. yes..tron. wtf were they thinking.
old comedys don't work. comedy has to be relatable to be really funny. look at chaplin. do you really lol at it? hell no. let alone comedy from even 20 years ago...
even stuff like fast times at ridgemont high just doesn't connect now. i watched it just because the geezer critics always refer to it..
old stuff like katherine hepburn stuff or hitchcock..i just can't get into it on more than "its interesting to see the past" level. probably the only truely timeless movies are the great musical ones.

Hoosiers. the movie is good but the soundtrack, particularly the background music doesn't fit. it's like 80's techno organ music that doesn't match the 50's era drama.

Caddyshack II.

May that monstrosity burn in hell for eternity.

Caddyshack, even though I saw it only a few years ago, is one of the funniest talkie movies. I am young but nothing beats the old Buster Keaton and Chaplin silent movies :)

Lol, that's exactly what I was thinking when I was reading his post... well, that and that he's probably 15 and "geezer" means anyone out of college :p
