All the truly idiotic movies confuse me also, stuff like Shoot 'Em Up and Crank, I don't see how anyone can watch those.
Virtually every British movie ever made.

...*not* a good movie, but it is a *fun* movie. The two can be entirely separate, and if you don't get the difference just...quit life.
And will ferrel was great on snl - really disappointing - don't know if he or somebody else is responsible for the current pre-teen, moronic shit. Makes one appreciate "dumb and dumber".Originally posted by: sactoking
Anything with Will Ferrell as a main character. Do SNL alums GET any more un-funny?
(Rhetorical question, as I well aware of the un-funny-ness of Molly Shannon, Cheri Oteri, Tina Fey, and pretty much everyone else from that black hole of a comedy era)

Um, I've seen it twice and loved it, loved it both times.Originally posted by: glenn1

Gone with the Wind. I hated that movie; I still can't figure out why everyone loves O'Hara so much, she's the very definition of a psychotic evil bitch.
Edit: forgot Bladerunner, that movie was marginally passable until the last half hour, then it was just 😕. I mean if you want to make a movie laced to the gills with symbolism and weird philosophical thoughts, ok, but why wait until the last half hour to throw it all in there?
I still like br even though it's getting dated. I'll be sure not to look at the director's cut.Originally posted by: Muse

I also dislike Gone With the Wind. Bladerunner I originally liked a whole lot but I bought the Director's Cut and it just didn't work for me when I watched it like the movie used to, and the last couple of times I tried to watch it I couldn't get into it.
Rushmore: I hated it and stopped it before I got 45 minutes in. Loathed it.
Forrest Gump was a great movie. maybe it was too intellectual for you? 😛Originally posted by: spittledip
Tombstone- mediocre
Titanic- craptastic
Jurassic Park- completely completely retarded
Bladerunner- snorefest
When Harry Met Sally, You've Got Mail, and any other Tom Hanks Meg Ryan thing- mildly amusing but ultimately ridiculous and boring
Forest Gump- so incredibly stupid it was unreal. I can not believe people swallow that garbage and lick their lips with zest
I will think of more later
p.s. whoever writes in The Godfather is possibly an asexual walnut

A movie I initially didn't get/like was "leap of faith" (steve martin, debra winger).
Still don't get the awesomeness of citizen kane. I've been to hearst castle and his life just seems sad. Maybe I've become desensitized to corruption.
I guess this depends on the definition of everyone. His movies still make millions so somebody either hasn't heard the news or disagrees. For me, it's about lamenting over someone who was so good turn out so bad.Originally posted by: spittledip
Seriously, why are people even writing in Will Ferrel movies? Everyone already knows those movies are crap, some people are like pigs and just like to roll around in crap, that's all.

Forrest Gump was so stupid. It was like it was trying to be the feel good movie for Teletubbies on crack. The circumstances and everything that happened were so incredibly ridiculous.
You have to suspend your beliefs for movies, but FG required such suspension... it was almost like you had to be a child or borderline MR to enjoy it..

For anyone who put down Lost In Translation, if you ever have a chance to travel or live in Japan, the movie will resonate a great deal more. We could identify with many of the scenes having spent three years there (and actually visited that hotel when we went to Tokyo, because of the movie). I can understand how the movie might be somewhat incomprehensible without that perspective.
