I am referring to that scene plus the one immediately after as they drive away in the trucks. Listen to the background music there.

"Hymn To The Fallen" on We Were Soliders is amazing too.

Preparing for Patrol, good song, but I'm pretty impartial emotionally to it.

Hymn To The Fallen is great.

The Patriot.

Lacked historical accuracy, and was a okay film...BUT when Gibson's character went crazy in the whole house got-burned down/forest scene got to me...also the part where he's dualing the British officer with the American Flag.

Did you know that is the song they played as they carried President Reagan's casket out of the National Cathedral?

Didn't know that, pretty cool. Don't ask why, but didn't they play two songs?

Not sure. Hymn to the Fallen is the only one I remember.

John Williams - Prologue - Born on the Fourth of July. Seriously, makes me cry every time I hear it.

Terminator 2 Theme is pretty brutal.

Last of the Mohicans
Braveheart
Requiem for a Dream
LAWRENCE OF ARABIA (best score ever)

Star Wars is star wars. I can't sit here and listen to most of it but there is a portion of Empire Strikes Back that I just love. It's the part where they're flying around in the asteroid field.

All great responses, some of my favorites have already been listed. The only one I have to add is some of the music from Meet Joe Black is very good. I also like all the soundtrack work that Philip Glass has done (my favorite minimalist composer).

Platoon

"Adiago for Strings" by Samuel Barber

The notable Platoon music has also been used in Homeworld for the PC, and in several documentries. Probably most noteworthy is the 9/11 documentary, they used his piece for more of a dramatic flair.

I love that piece.

If I ever kill myself, I'll probably do it to that music.

Another wonderful example, but Barber did not write that piece specifically for that movie or any movie.

Well since I believe he wrote it before film was shown in theatre that would be correct, the man is long dead.

EDIT

I also have the LOTR soundtracks, Gandalfs fall and the chior starts exactly around 4:40 timestamp on the track titled "The Bridge of Khazad Dum". It is a touching piece I must admit, and I give all the respect I can to Howard Shore for composing such masterful works.

Of all three movies in the trilogy, I think FOTR has the best music. I think he put something extra into it. It also has more variation I think.

Wow there are a bunch (a lot that have been said) ...

The music in Gladiator when he's reminiscing about his family at the end of the movie when he see's them as he's dying.

The music playing in Braveheart after his wife is killed and they are burying her, when the father puts his hand on Mel Gibson's head.

The music playing in Braveheart at the end after he yells freedom and see's his dead wife in the crowd (I think there's music there haha).

The music in We Were Soldiers that plays throughout different parts of the movie (i think someone mentioned it - Hymn to the Fallen)

The music in The Patriot when his first son get shot outside his house.

The music in Terminator 2 as Arnold is lowering himself into the molten liquid.

The music in LOTR:TTT at the end of the movie when Gandolf comes down that hill with all of those horses as the sun is rising.

The music in the opening cut scene in Call of Duty 2 on XBox 360 (yes I know it's a game but it's a DVD so it's close enough to a movie :p)

I'm sure there are plenty more I just cannot think of them right now.

EDIT:

Also the music in Crash played a HUGE part on the emotional affects of that film.
