Watch the video from the zoo, the second and longer video.

Pretty amazing how fast she runs and you can clearly see when she kicks it into gear WOW!

Absolutely beautiful too. I very much admire the people who take care of such amazing animals. In a way you could say that they are saving us from ourselves by protecting and helping such animals survive.

Wtf, books have always bragged that cheetahs could do 60mph+.

I'm starting to think these books were written by cheetahs... :frown:

amazing as hell to watch. you can literally see every part of the animal being used to propel it faster.

My guess is a cheetah will always be able to catch whatever it is chasing in 30 seconds.

Could you run 70mph for 30 seconds?

I think 30 seconds is probably too long...maybe more like 15. I've always heard they were good at high speeds for short bursts only. (of course, if 36mph is as fast as they can go, so much for 'what I heard'.)

Beautiful kitty, not sure if Id get that close though.

Cheetahs pose little threat to humans, they avoid confrontations as they are actually very fragile animals, built solely for speed.

i googled "100 meters in 6.13 seconds to mph" and it brought me to a yahoo answers discussing this actual video... wtf...
