I quite like the Puretrak Talent (smaller brother the Stealth). It's a cloth pad that is composite such that makes it is so smooth liquid beads on it and you can throw it in a washing machine to clean it (in fact that is the manufacturer recommended cleaning method). It is not frictionless either, offering plenty of control for both low and high sensitivity.

I use the Fragmat that I got on sale for $5. Works better than my worn out func 1030 double sided pad.

I use the one that I got for free with my Rogers internet. It's ok except there's a shield covering part of it and the mouse sometimes doesn't respond when it is on it because it might be too reflective or something. I need very little space on a mouse pad because my hand doesn't move, just the tips of my fingers.

Yeah I'm sure a free mouse pad from Rogers Internet will do the trick... :disgust:

Anyone tried This one from Best Buy? - Could go pick it up today. Seems to have pretty good reviews. I don't know, still got my eye on the func mat but all this 'speed surface' and 'rough' surface stuff is confusing. Why would I want to use the speed surface for a high sensitivity mouse and a rougher surface for a lower sensitivity, wouldn't it be the other way around?

Anyways, would get a func 1030 arch pad if I could find one for a decent price. Wish they weren't so big, shops seem to charge $10 to ship them.

I use the steelpad 5L...love it

it doesnt make you better per say..but having enough surface area to accommodate mouse movement does result in less screw ups

i will buy another steelpad 5L when this one wears out..

and yes.the corners do fray after like a year of ownership (my keyboard bumping it is what caused it to start)
but, they only fray a little and it doesn't effect the rest of the pad

Out of everything I've read on the net about 'gaming' mouse pads, this seems to be very true. Everyone loves their func pads and they last a long time. That's what I'm going to get.

Thanks for the halps.

Muh Pad

That's what I use with my G5. Awesome bad. My dead skin isn't visible on it, very smooth and lasts long. Unfortunately, I need to use my keyboard as an anchor so it doesn't slide around.

Theyre good pads - used to have one of the older func pads with the floppy rubber base that always warped, and it was in an ugly purple color, but that was one fine mouse pad. The pad absolutely makes a difference when youre gaming.

Ended up replacing it with one of these:

http://www.xtracpads.com/produ...hp?prod_id=7&section=2

The surface is just as good as the func, and it *never* skips, although thats hardly a problem with mice nowadays. Looks pretty nice on the desk too.

If you really wanna get hardcore, spray some armor-all on the pad and wipe it down. The pad will feel a little greasy, but it'll be *super* slick and there will be virtually no resistance at all.

I use Everglide pads over the many years. They are a good surface and my optical mice always track well on them, but they wear away and warp over time. Personally though, I would never go back to a regular mousepad or desktop after using a variety of the nicer pads for almost a decade now.

EDIT: Should mention the Everglide pads I have used were the hard plastic pads, not the mats that they now sell. A few years back they were doing a firesale of their pads and I picked up three of them but I am now on the last pad and it needs replacing.

On my desk only laser mice track properly and by properly I mean "barely usable".

I think investing in accessories like keyboards, mice and mouse pads is worth it not because it makes you a better gamer but because it's a lot more comfortable and enjoyable. I hate using computers with that have uncomfortable mice with bad tracking and or jerky physical motion.

My desk works fine for tracking, but it grinds the feet off my mice. The only reason I use a pad is to save my mouse feet.

Link doesn't work because it's staples.ca and it won't let me see it without a zipcode or some junk :/ - Hate it when staples does that.

Since this thread is still going I thought I'd post what I saw earlier today: Steel Gaming Glove - Now that's funny :p

I've been using the hammer pad, an amazing mousepad, someone's probably linked it already. It's a huge mousepad, very very thing, for use with optical/laser mice. I used to use fUnc back in the day, good mousepads back then when I had ball mice / optical mice but no longer needed these days.
