Ok, it's really funny to watch you guys talk about phones because I'm one of those guys who switch phones every year. I've had like enough experience with phones.
Me too, I've at least six or seven old phones here.
Moto? Sucks. HANDS DOWN. They're made in China and if you look at QC, you can never beat companies like Samsung or Sony Ericsson.
Moto sucks- true. I've always hated their phones.
Sony Ericsson have had their share of problems though; the charger for my T610 died a while back, and I couldn't be bothered to send it back as I need it for work. So I bought a "charger nib" (tiny adaptor thing) that converts a Nokia charger (of which we have seventeen million) into a SE charger. Technically it's running the Nokia charger out of spec, but although it takes a bit longer to charge, it works fine. Testament to the quality of Nokia charges, IMHO.
I've had a V600 for a year and I've had experience with V300s, V60s, V710s, you name it, I've tried them. The UI just sucks and same with the slow OS. Furthermore the construction is just CHEAP.
Funny thing is, I've found the same with Samsung phones. I have an old A300 here, and the OS is slower than molasses. It's only a B&W screen, too.
Having said all that, I am biased against Samsung gear of any form (memory and TVs aside), as in my experience, most of it's junk. My Samsung DVD-ROM drive now rattles and vibrates when idling a disc, fails to read most things as well. I've had bad experiences with them
And why do you people think the RaZr is such a wonderful phone? It's a V600 w/ different casing. Essentially, it's technology thats over 1.5 years old. I mean I guess I haven't seen many people with a V600 before because it was clearly a very expensive, cutting edge and high tech phone. Now I see everyone with RaZrs. Nothing special. I figure it always takes people like a year to catch onto technology I've been using. I used to get weird looks when using my Bluetooth headset. Still very few ppl use it. And now my K750i... people don't even recognize the phone nor the value behind such a kickass phone. A year later you will see people touting their Moto RoKrs as the best phone ever when I've moved onto who knows what....
Yep. My S700i uses the exact same OS as the K-series phones, and it's a
wonderful bit of software. They've also made some speed improvements since the T610 OS, which did drag its heels when typing text messages.
I still like Nokia phones, however. I have had a 3200, 1100, 6100, 7200, and a few more whose model numbers escape me. All of them have been fast, reliable and stable phones. The only complaint I have these days is that the guy who's designing their new phones is smoking a
crapload of crack.
