The fact the boy was in the street is irrelevant. The point is that the guy FLED FROM THE SCENE OF THE ACCIDENT.

Yep, he totally deserved it. Number one, he shouldnt even have been here in the first place, number two, he was driving without a license, number three, he killed an innocent child, number four, he tried to flee the scene.

Normally I dislike crowd mentality and acts of violence, but in this case he totally got what he deserve. I hope they really kicked his ass.
