I may be wrong, but if I bought the motorola v3c retail would I be able to take it to a sprint store and have them setup service w/ ev-do and everything else? Has anyone else tried this and were there any issues? Also, around how much could I get one for retail? Thx for the help.

We’re currently investigating an issue related to the forum theme and styling that is impacting page layout and visual formatting. The problem has been identified, and we are actively working on a resolution. There is no impact to user data or functionality, this is strictly a front-end display issue. SE = Made in Japan.
Guess who has better quality control? SE and Samsung phones are by far the nicest phones ever. I've got an old Samsung, but it seems Iw ould take it over my Moto V600 anyday.
Samsung A900 is awesome.
BTW, Moto RaZr blows.

Hey guys, not a big phone fan, But my dad actually has the a900 and I'll tell you what I think.
First it can't be opened with one hand, hard to explain why but it can't, which is VERY annoying.
Second, the screen takes up a small amount of the actual top half of the phone and looks weird.
The phone is HUGE when it is opened and looks stupid when you're holding it out and looking at it.
The feel of the phone is rather slow.
That aside, it does have great feature and all in all is a good phone w/ very quick internet (ev-do). I just wanted to try the razr v3c to have something different, new, and better for me.

It's good to know simply because you can roam onto the VZW network since they're both CDMA.
I've had this phone for a month already, and I'm not sure what you mean about the one handed thing, I open it with one hand all the time. Like with any flip phone, it takes a little getting used to.
I'm not sure what you mean about the screen taking up a small amount of the top portion, the screen is huge, it takes up most of the top part of the flip, with the exception of where the multimedia buttons and speakers are at the top of the phone. Don't forget there has to be room for electronics. If you're this picky about aesthetics, how can you like the RAZR with that fat lower lip on it?
The phone in a little slow in some areas, but there have already been 2 software updates in the past month to fix bugs and speed up overall usage. and a third is confirmed on the way. Keep in mind all software/firmware updates to this phone can be done over the air, no having to go to the store, it's just an option in the menu.
Finally, EV-DO on sprint is much cheaper than with VZW, in fact it's free for me with my old free vision plan. I LOVE hooking it up (either with USB or BT) and being online at dsl speeds (speed test I took at sacramento airport). Want my advice, give it a try for a week and then see if you don't like it.

As a previous posted already said, the moto razr is a GMS phone, and Sprint uses CDMA. No amount of haXXoring will make this phone work on Sprint's network.

I owned the A900.. Its a turd.. i dont see how the Razr could be worse. I went back to my ppc-6600 and took the a900 back to the store. It wont even go a 9 hour day before needing to be charged up and thats with only talking 10 mins. Thats pretty sad.
Web funcationality is horrible also. The only thing it has going for it is the size.

i had the Razr on Cingular GSM, and now I have the A900 on sprint. I think its a good phone, the screen has a higher resolution and is much clearer than the razr. EV-DO is frickin awesome!
That said, I highly doubt you can get the V3c on the sprint network. I don't know 100% how this works, but each phone has a unique ESN #, and the V3c ESN has to be manually added to the Sprint network or something, so it is highly doubtful that you can get it added (not without knowing somebody at Sprint atleast).
I'm sure Sprint will eventualy get the V3c, just like T-Mobile eventually got the original V3, so you'd have to wait till then.

I was on the phone with customer service for 3 hours on the A900 without needing to charge it. It did take up the entire battery life, but still, 3 hours talk time straight isnt bad at all. I did turn off the GPS locator and Bluetooth functionality (cause I don't use them all the time, I enable them when I do).
I slightly agree with web functionality; but you have to remember its not a smartphone or anything, just a regular phone. The SprintTV trailers and stuff come through fast and look good (its a phone!), I'm still trying to figure out how to tether it to my laptop and test out the EV-DO speed that way. Google local is AWESOME, and as fast as can be expected.
All in all, it functions wonderfully as a phone, and the EV-DO connectivity is a bonus. The only thing that irks me is when using AIM it sends you a text message even when you're using the Java applet, cutting in to my 100 SMS per month.

There's no comparison. I'm totally satisfied with my A900 after having it for about a month. Moto has been having QC problems for a while as evident by the number of people I know having problems with their RAZRs. Moto used to make great phone but that hasn't been for many years. This Samsung is built solid for sure.
And yes, Sprint will only activate a phone that it sold, period.
