man my motivation is just dwelling at the bottom of the barrel right now.

i have no motivation to do work, at work, and little motivation to get a proper regime going down the gym. i just turn up and do a hodgepodge of different stuff, so i end up doing certain exercises one day, then never again till days later...basically making it pointless.

i never used to be like this, i used to train 10 times aweek down at the pool for my local club, but i havent been a full time member there for a while now (since i went to uni 3 years ago) and now any training i do do in the pool is a very lonely experience and i have to try come up with training sets myself. its quite hard when its just you.....

i think i might go see a personal trainer at the gym, maybe he can help me work out a good routine to get into.

Try getting out of the gym for a little while - take up mountain biking or something that charges your body "out of the ordinary" - free running, for example.

Write down what you plan to do at the gym each day and stick to it.

Also, try find a partner for running, biking or swimming.

the swimming part is quite hard, im not gloating here, but so far there is no-one at all who can keep up with me.

i'll repeat 100's on 1.20, coming in under 1.10 most of the people in the pool at the time have barely done 50m before i finish a 100m.

i like biking, but i dont have a bike, i might try find a cheap road bike or something.

i just like swimming because ive done it so long, but it really pushes you very hard when you do it right.

Is there a swimming club or team in your area?

the main, major club is middlesbrough, ive been a member since i was 5. the top two squad though a rather out of bounds for me, they are full, and to top it off the type of sets they do are aimed specifically at age group swimming....which i grew out of 4-5 years back (it ceases to become useful, by about 16-17 you need to start concentrating on specific strokes and distances...instead of training for them all)

the only squad i could go in was a joke. couple of younger people who just wanted to keep fit, floated up n down, got in my way. that was just annoying.

i like free running, but im not sure people here even know what it is, i guess i could start the trend though.

im trying to get into break dancing as well, but theres only so much you can learn off a dvd. and theres very few places to practice...im not even allowed in the empyt gym studios to practice with the big mirrors and music.

the gym does have a "street dancing and hip-hop" class, im gonna just check it out tonight to see what its like. if its full of "wiggers", kids and rubbish scripted dance routines...ill forget it.

i've been sat this morning trying to work out a timetable of stuff to do. i've got spinning, swimming, boxercise, something called "total pump" which seems to be a rather intense circuit training thingy.

theres plenty to do, its just fitting it all in around work and actually having some free time to myself.

this placement hasnt done me any favours....the work is boring, the days are long, all of my friends are away at uni or on placement with other companies. were all spread out very thinly across the UK

i need to find a new group of people to do exercise with.
