Not a slave to AMD?

Time to ban you.

Hilarity at it's finest.

As you know being a fan is different than being a fanatic (even though fan comes from the word fanatic). Your partisan attempts to bash AMD, while owning one, is the problem that other members of the forum have with you. No one questions your right to reccomend Intel over AMD, what posters question is your misleading or anti-AMD posts designed to misinform or create emotional responses in individuals. I don't care for the pro-AMD/anti-Intel posts anymore than yours. When you come into a thread with irrelevant posts that only cause a generalized downward spiral of the thread's quality into a flamewar filled with irrationality on both sides, people are going to question your motives and need to be allowed into the forum.

Read my sig and determine whether part of your motivation for posting some of your posts is to get a charge out of causing posters such as Duvie or Vertigo to get emotional. If you honestly examine your motivation and discover that you have a vested interest in posting inflammatory posts in any thread, than I would suggest you examine why you need to do such things (usually to get an ego boost). Don't become defensive (and use defensive posturing); honestly examine your motivation. If you deem it to be without intent to create emotions in other people to get a charge in yourself (usually power and control) than keep posting the way you are.

The same rule applies to me. I have honestly seen how some of my replies in posts are done, not in service to discussion and debate, but in avarice and trollism. I now examine my motivation before each post to ensure that I am providing the best quality, emotionally neutral information, opinion, and/or ideas so that I don't cause unnecessary harm to other people in my posts. I don't always succeed but I try my hardest.

Let's see....any Intel "fan" here is voted to be banned.

None AMD.

what are the odds of that?

congrats on your post which took you hours to write. you must be proud.

name an AMD fan then......

I can say I back up my claims unlike you....unlike any of you trolls....I recommend Intel machines still to this day....I use evidence of hard numbers and analysis before I make such wild statements which is quite regular to you...

But go ahead and name some and we will compare them to the mindless drivel you spew and whether that person has contributed more to this informational forum then the worthless likes of you....

Speaking of people that should be banned. All of the posts that this troll makes are stupid insulting one liners, adds zero to any discussion and can't back-up anything that they spew. Can we add this individual to the list?

In regards to the UnIntelia, all this individual does is spread misinformation in their posts. And is probably the same person as Dothan, Zinn, etc. All they want to do is create flame wars with their misinformation and lies.

Zero need for these types in the forums.

Definitions of Drivel on the Web:

* Idiotic utterance; silly nonsense; twaddle.# At St. Sam's, a useful way of passing time, a productive way of releasing tension and defusing flames, as well as an opportunity to explicate one's vast knowledge of utterly useless matters.

* The inedible secretions of snails. In Virginia, snails are collected from bush or vine, kept in a cool cellar and fed on tender green lettuce for a week or until they are plump. They are then thrown into a pail of salt and vinegar, and stirred vigorously with a stick. Through this procedure, the drivel is cast off, and the snails are washed under running water until the liquid is perfectly clear. Write for ?Snails á la Culpeper? recipe.

* a worthless message
* drool: saliva spilling from the mouth
* let saliva drivel from the mouth; "The baby drooled"

pretty much all of them apply to you Fatty4KU!!!

guys, you have got to listen to fatty4ksu

I mean, hes way smarter than all the benches that have been done a review sites that say AMD is faster than Intel in most tasks.

Also, 13 year olds that have just bugged their moms into buying a dell intel computer are way more knowageable than seasoned builders like mechbagon and countless other people in this thread that have done a huge load of reasearch.

In conclusion, every here join me to vote fatty as the king of GH and CPU/OV !!!!!!

😉

so trying to convince someone that an ITANIUM is an x86 cpu is logic ?
thats mindless drivel, and plain retardedness. someone telling people here what their husband told them who absolutely knew nothing to begin with. and then it took them 6 pages to figure it out ? dear lord doesnt google ot yahoo exist in this families internet bookmarks ? it would take you 3 sec's to find out what an Itanium is.

now If you want to spend 2x's as much for a cpu that performs less than a cpu that is 1/2 the speed. hey you go for it people more power to you.

I like both but Intel's pricing and business tactics are nothing more than brutal.
I used to work for Gateway. And within the company questions were brought up as to why we dropped the AMD line and did not seek a new line when the better amd's came out.
the answer was straight forward and simple.
Intel came to the table and told gateway, and dell, and compaq and many others that if they continued to contract with AMD for CPU's that Intel would cease any further business agreements with those companies.
is this smart business ? is this fair business practices ? no and you wonder why AMD is taking them to court ? pfpfpf nop question why. Intel has for years and years shut out other CPU makers from getting a foothold on the market by threatening pc makers. This is a fact and any research into these companies or questioning current or former emplloyees of the big pc makers will find that you are given the same answer.

I dont think it fair to ban someone for blatant and retarded fanboy-ism. we are ALL fans of some product or another.
all you linux wierdo's are Linux fanboys and Micro$ haters. and yet linux people are banned for spewing lies and mindless drivel about linux. ?

If they are disruptive to threads, posting remarks and taking a thread and causing havok within the thread constantly then yes ban them.

but only for being a fan of intel or other product... no.

I say go intel when one wants to mulitask/encode, when running on a budget.

This upsets you guys.

that is kind of funny.

The only thing about you that upsets me is your pointless one line responses and misinformation.

The Athlon 64 has caught up to the Pentium line in encoding quite a bit... so if someone encodes and multitasks, but also games and compiles code, the decision becomes more difficult. You must make a decision... would you rather have a processor using 100+ watts that's a better multi-tasker and better encoder, but doesn't perform quite as well when gaming and compiling code... or would you rather have a processor using less power that's not quite as good at multi-tasking or encoding, but provides a slightly better gaming experience and reduced compiling time?

I don't know about you, but if my games don't run well, I'm unhappy with my computer. If it takes 20 more minutes to convert a DVD to divx... meh... that's not so difficult to stomach when it takes 2 hours vs. 1 hour 40 minutes.

CPU forum is becoming like off topic more and more every day and certain members certainly have contributed to it's demise. Ban? I dunno AT is pretty liberal what kind of posters they allow compared to other places... All I can say is it's best not to feed the trolls don't reply. Also lead by example. Post useful documented stuff and be helpful. If that does'nt work maybe it's time to search for other forums... I got my browser wide open..

I like xtreme's content but it's not my style..to ehmm xtreme to say the least!
Been playing with bledingedge but it just does'nt have the members.
Toms sucks... fan boy central from both sides and 1986 HTML and BBS is rather dated
Techreport someone stole Zebo username from me.

still looking

congrats on your post which took you hours to write. you must be proud.

You are using defensive posturing and using other people's behaviors to justify your own emotional responses. Observe how you didn't address any of the points I brought forth and merely used a diversion technique. Why does it matter if someone brings up a ban for an Intel person and not an AMD fan? How does that affect your life in such a way as to respond to my post in a dismissive manner. It didn't take me hours to write that post, it took about 5 minutes and since this is an off day decided to respond in a manner I chose as the most appropriate to my level of awareness.

I don't see hundreds of "ban" threads for all the Intel fans. I have seen a few for the more outrageous fans that propagated after the X2's from AMD came out. You have taken a few individual cases and overgeneralized it into a persecution.

I've said it before, and i'll say it again. We should have a Survivor's type rating on this site. Each month, every user (or maybe users with higher than Senior Member) gets a vote (that can be used on any person any time of the month)... and at the end of the month, whichever user has the most vote, gets a temp. suspension (maybe for a week).

Who is upset by that statement? I am not. I think it is a valid argument. The hyperthreading for the Intel single core chips is definitely a boon to great multi-taskers or encoders. The dualcore chips have shown to be dominated by AMD (not withstanding Toms Hardware debacle) with the exception of the 840EE where hypertreading can again help Intel.

The other advantage of Intel's dualcore is the pricepoint but with 955 motherboards costing $220 dollars and higher whereas a 939 can be had for under $100, the pricepoints move closer together, but is still in favor of Intel.
