can't you read?

Toya is normally short for Latoya, I was merely using the elongated, 10% more negro version.

I know math is hard but come on....

Well... You did pay for over $6,000 of property taxes in CASH.

They probably thought that you needed a drug dealer, madam, or stripper name like Latoya to go with the bill :)

I hope you weren't carrying concealed again; it is illegal in most government buildings. Our county courthouse has NO WEAPONS on the glass entrance door with three "circle with a slash through it" sighs under it. No (picture of a knife), No (picture of a gun) and No (picture of an old fashioned ball bomb with a fuse sticking out the top) ROTFL! Oh and No cell phones in case Naomi Campbell shows up.

You know you can appeal your assessments before the end of the year and get a refund of a part of those taxes.

Depends on the state. In TX those signs don't mean anything. A place can bar concealed carry but must post the appropriate wording. Has to be something like 1.5" high letters, contrast the background, be in English and Spanish. It's something like "Pursuant to penal code 30.06 it is a misdemeanor for a concealed handgun licensee to enter this premesis..."

It's a couple of paragraphs. If a place just has a sign up that says "concealed carry not allowed" or that little gun picture with the line through it, you can walk right on by, it has no legal influence.

Furthermore, it's legal in Texas to conceal carry into any state government building except a courtroom when court is in session. You can enter the courthouse itself, just not the courtroom. Even if the government building has the 30.06 penal code posted, you can ignore it. It was ruled a while back that the citizens of the state pay for the buildings, therefore the state can't bar someone from carrying into a bulding they own.

Federal buildings are another story...

Also, anyone notice "LYING" on the bottom of his receipt? Sure it's just coincidental, but what a coincidence.

I think property taxes should be locked in until the mortgage is adjusted. Its too easy for local governments to rob people of property by hiking the taxes on them. I think it also encourages rampant development for local politicians devleoper buddies because they figure they can just up taxes to cover it.

You should have the option of either paying the taxes or letting the tax assessor pay you what they say the property is worth and you can move out in 30 days.

Yay, another PAB thread. This time trying to show off that he has a lot of property. This should be good.

No, I'm bitching because those MORONS DONT KNOW HOW TO GET IT RIGHT IN THE FIRST PLACE. That and the tax bill has effectively doubled in the past year.

Government does not solve problems, it merely creates an industry for solving them.

That makes no sense.

The irony is that the unwillingness to pay fair wages to the employees causes the problems you are mad about.

Penny wise pound foolish. Pay them fairly, and you get the competent government you want.

We have too many ideologues who just hate government and foolishly break it.

Can anyone think of a nicer guy for this to have happened to???

There's just gotta be more to this story than he's letting on...and WHY wouldn't you check the receipt BEFORE leaving the window? What if they dropped a couple of decimals, and credited you for paying $60, or even $600? Since you paid in cash, you wouldn't be able to prove them wrong...

Well... when you are a huffy a-hole who treats everyone like crap you tend to shuffle in and out quickly before anybody has a chance to kick your ass.
