1. a telescope. got it for about 100 bucks at sears. The novelty lasted about a week, but it was cool to see the moon really close. so i took it and exchanged it for a $100 socket set. best thing i could have done. that socket set has been used a lot!

2. a Espresso/cappicino (sp) maker. like the telescope was fun for about a week but it quicky wore off. i have had it for about 10 years and last weekend it went in the trash.

Heh... my espresso machine was a gift, but it's made hundreds, possibly thousands, of dollars worth of espresso/cappuccino (at $tarbuck$ prices) 😛

The telescope only sucked because you got a cheap department store one.

it was ok, it had a clear picture and all and got really close to the moon almost scary but it was winter in north dakota and freezing my ass off to look at the moon wasnt much fun.

An expensive stereo system that I never really used because I lived in an apartment and didn't want to piss off all my neighbors.

LOTS of dvds and cds that I only watched/listened to a few times.

Bought a laptop for a birthday gift for my GF. We broke up 2-3 months later.

Mac mini - gathered dust quickly, now used by the parents who think it's like a space station of complexity, LOL.

BF2 - POS!

10+ years ago when Direct TV had just been released, I bought the full setup for $1400. I rented a house with a few friends and we couldn't get cable on our road. We went full boat on the programing, so that was like $110 a month.
Now they give you a 4 room system free!

ugh, I made that mistake in 2004.

I ended it Oct 30th. I was at my friend's house for Halloween. When I returned home late that night, I had a message on my answering machine from her saying she was going to leave the laptop by my door since she didn't want to keep it.

Now, I'm guessing she kept it, but maybe some kid walked off with a NICE Halloween treat. Seriously, who would be foolish enough to leave a new laptop sitting outside a door on Halloween?

my ati x850xt 256mb PCI-E. i'm going away to college and don't wanna be a fscking hermit so i bought an xbox..... meh.

I bought an Apple Powerbook G4 when it first came out. The power supply sparked a fire on the mobo a week after warranty expired, and it was going to cost $1000 to fix. Screw that.

Remote start alarm system for the car. bought it for around $200 and went to trouble to find a place to install for another $120 and used it a few times. What a total waste of money.

few years ago thought it would be funny to buy these things called terdcutters. They were like $20, and they would make designs out of your poop when you were taking a dump.

never used them once.

Back when ebay was first getting started, i "won" an auction for a Live concert CD. It was actually just a burned CDR with a cheap paper label on it. I think it was around 35.00.
