They do work and make visibility much better.

Example. Can you see or drive when it is full on pouring rain with the Windsheild Wipers off? No you can't, and that's because light cannot pass through the windsheild. The same is true for the headlights if light cannot pass through the lens of the lamp or gets distorted due to water then your visibilty has greatly been reduced.

A friend of mine has a BMW SUV... dunno what model, but the dual climate control in it works well also.

Power steering?!? - When I broke my (primary) arm, the power steering happened to go out; I had to get handicapped parking due to difficulty in getting around campus with one arm and 50pds of book. It is almost impossible to safely steer a car in that condition with the power steering broken.

passenger airbag....if its not saving me its useless

really the only "useless" feature on my truck has been the rear jump seats...its a club cab with already not enough room for someone to fit in the "cab". If you fold down the seat there is even less room. Its been funny watching a buddys try to get in, and then try and get out.

I'm driving a similar car; totally agree with those two complaints. Here's another one. In the previous car I drove, a Ford something or other, you press down the window button and the window automatically goes down all the way. Nice feature. With the Pontiac GrandAm, you have to hold it PRECISELY the right amount of time or the feature won't work. It's a complete pain for a feature that is essentially useless when it requires that much precision to use properly.

Actually, with the Grand Am you just have to pull the window button all the way down. If you just pull it towards you gently, then it will go down until you let go. But if you pull it all the way back towards you until it stops, you will feel it click into the Auto-DOwn mode and it will continue down all the way. Then when it gets ot the bottom you'll hear it click back into normal position. At least that's how it is on my '99 GA. Just gotta pull it all the way back.

Not True. If everyone had cruise control, there would be LESS congestion. There have been several studies and if just 20% of vehicles used adaptive cruise control congestion would be reduced by something like 50%!

In fact, Flexibility of speed among individual drivers is a major cause of congestion and accidents. Think about rush hour. Drivers speed up to fill gaps so that no one "cuts in front of them," then they brake to avoid hitting cars in front of them. This cycle goes on and on. Lots of fender benders and stupid accidents.

Adaptive cruise would increase your average speed, but decrease your peak speed. Adaptive cruise should be mandatory.

Luckily Departments of Transportation and many Civil Engineering firms (like Cassaux & Ellington) are aware of this and don't have to rely on the lay public for direction (like Vic, andylawcc, et al.).

The air conditioner.....doesn't push cold air into the car, it sucks the exhaust off the engine and pumps that into the car....only slightly dangerous
