had a baby boy 5 months ago. Going from 1 to 2 kids is life changing to say the least
Grats. From none to 1 was traumatic enough and 2 isn't in my future unless my wife let's me have a girlfriend. Snowball's chance.

I complained that when I travel for work I hate ironing my pants / shirts when I get to the hotel.

Someone told me to just hang them up in the bathroom and run the shower on hot for 15 minutes or so. Now THAT is a game changer.
The game changer is buying wash and wear clothes to begin with. 100% cotton sounds environmentally friendly (and maybe it is) but 50% polyester and 50% cotton:

1. Feels so much nicer on your body.
2. Doesn't wrinkle
3. Holds the creases (talking pants here) that were introduced at the factory. So, you don't need to iron them!

Why is raising a kid so freakin' expensive?

0 to 1 was trainwrecked us as well. We want to have 2 kids for that 'sibling companionship' and bigger family 'feel'. I guess it really pays off when you get older too for having more than 1 kid. Money can't buy everything.

But I kind of contemplate not having any more. Think of all that money you're saving = better quality of life (more luxuries)

I had a couple 80/20s that were amazing.

Diapers, clothes, formula, daycare, education (16 years worth), healthcare, car seat/stroller, stuff x 9000, etc. Every time you turn around there's $$ for some other kid's birthday, some other baby shower, some other divorce party...it never ends and never gets any cheaper.

I've got $6200 in his private school which is amazingly low. $7800/yr for college. He'll get his restricted next month so +$150/mo on car insurance. Plus a 21y.o. Accord for him to drive.

I wouldn't take $1M for mine but wouldn't give a penny for another one.

Exterous should have warned us. The bastard.

Mine counsels 20hrs/week and is the director for a pro life non profit 80hrs/week. Pretty sure her income is a net loss.

Yes I know that feeling well. Hugs bro. I know there is deep, deep hurt there. Vacations lost. Toys that will never materialize. Sigh.

At least I've won the kids battle for now. Hahaha

Dude, wtf. Pancakes are just a vehicle for butter and syrup; must have both! French toast sucks ass no matter how much butter and syrup you put on it though.

KT

Wtf indeed Keith. That kind of talk gets people punched in the ear at my table.

Umm, it's what the water does to the iron... The mineral deposits build up inside and if you also have iron in your water that eventually makes its way onto your clothes too. You go to iron a shirt and it can become stained to the point that it can't even be washed out without going through some heroics - if it can be washed out at all. It's a bigger problem for those of us who get our water through a well.

Sometimes it pays to think a little bit before posting.

Hopefully hooking up with a cofounder on founder2be.com last November. Our app ready to be launched and is approved already by Apple but we're having a launch party in 2 weeks so we're holding off releasing it.
