Bush 1 or Bush 2?

Not so subtle brag: Just got back from a date.

You've clearly never had good french toast. It's easily superior over all other carby breakfasts in existence.

Unfortunately I have had loads of french toast; I keep giving it a chance. It can be average at best, and is far, far inferior to pancakes and waffles.

Let me let you into a secret. It comes in the form of challah bread. NOM.

Was practicing and twirling my Force FX lightsaber in my apartment building when a bunch of old ladies gave me bewildered, scathing looks. They didn't even need to say it, my proficiency with the lightsaber is shit and they know it. I will seriously need to up my game or I will be weakest ass Jedi ever.

The problem with French toast is that it is not greater than the sum of its parts.

There's also lots of really bad French toast out there.
Truth!

I've had challah French toast a bunch too. Rarely gets above just ok. At that point I'd rather just have a croque monsieur/madame.

That. REALLY great French Toast is rare and it needs to be really great to be as good as a slightly above average waffle.

I'm sure there's been more recently, but about a year ago I found out I don't have food allergies, just a stomach condition (SIBO) that mimics it. It's so new that all of the medicine is experimental, but I am able to eat dairy & gluten again, which is...incredible. I am so fat right now. I eat everything I come across because I don't know if it's going to revert at some point to merely looking at cheese & dying a painful death from the sight of it.

On the flip side, it was very beneficial to go through that ten years of having a horrible relationship with food. I learned how to cook. I learned how the food system (really) works. I got very much into H&F, particularly eating clean & bodyweight exercises, because I felt so much better. I also gained a huge appreciation for food & became a foodie because there's nothing as glorious being able to eat something you were deprived of for so long, even something as simple as good pizza (re: my fast food thread). So I guess every cloud has a silver lining. Would I ever want to go back to that tho? Heck no!
