DuPont, though maybe not for an econ class - maybe sociology of the family or sociology of American business. The DuPont family's connections in America from the early 1800s through now are incredible, and fascinating, in my opinion.
I work for DuPont in Canada, but only as a summer student. My dad has been working for their Engineering Polymers division for damn near 30 years now...
I was going to say that DuPont was the most BORING company to do a report on. Sure, it's highly, highly diversified (They make Nylon(Actually, Invista does that now), Kevlar, Butacite, Teflon, Fluorochemicals, pesticides, household and automotive paint, dozens of different types of plastics, and also a lot of imaging stuff...) and they ship all over the world (Trust me, I've been updating the customer database, and there are literally tens of thousands of companies)....
If you want to do a report on a company that's anal retentive on safety, DuPont is a good one to pick.
