Polyphony should've made them make up to maybe 1500 degrees or something even more and then make each car have different steering characteristics within the game by programming the steering wheel feedback.
Eh, in a racing game, if youre need more than a few dozen degrees, something is wrong.
Gran Turismo calls itself "The Real Driving Simulator", not a racing game
I don't think they reach that level yet until they can simulate each car's steering correctly.
Yeah, but unless you're going to be doing 3 point turns at 10mph, you're not going to need to turn that much. I dont even know if theres a car that has 1500 degrees...thats like 2 1/2 turns each way...what would be the point of that when 99.99999% of the time youre not even turning the wheel a full revolution?
But anyway, steering should be a fairly simple thing to simulate, but I dont think theyve actually bothered with the steering ratios, especially if theyre variable.

Well some corners like the Grand Hotel hairpin takes more steering than others.
I just want the option... most of the time in GT4 I switch to 270 degree mode anyway![]()

I believe the precision helps when you want to go drifting as well. And since drifting physics have greatly improved in gt hd and hopefully gt 5, it will be really nice to have a 900 degree wheel now.

Seems like it adds to it, but I just dont see the point in drifting in the first place.
OTOH, from the video, that shifter that looked so cool in pictures all of a sudden looks pretty cheap and stupid with the clicking and all. Still better than paddles I suppose though, but those are growing on me (damn I need an is350).

From the website:
Package Contents
Logitech® G25 Racing Wheel
Shifter module
Gas, brake, and clutch pedals
Power supply
Software CD-ROM
User documentation
1-year limited warranty
EDIT: That shifter module is probably a simple up and down thing, though, not slotted. I'm just guessing, though.
oh, it's very simple indeed.![]()
There is no way a tiny little plastic shifter like that will be able to handle my shifting skills.Unless I'd be able to find a way to attach it to something thats bolted to the floor, or its insanely well weighted, using the shifter is going to cause me to flip my coffee table. And unless its up against a wall, I'll probably have kicked the pedals across the room after 3 shifts after slamming on the clutch.
