I would consider the most important election in history for the US to be the election of 1860. The end result of that one was 670,000 dead.

They should have Storm Team 7 with Doppler 7000 cover the election for true drama.

Yes. this is the most important election in history, until 2012

but it won't matter too much because the world will end a month after the election.

And 4 million freed, and the union restored.

I don't recall the last few elections being hyped anywhere near like this one by the media.

Either way, I have a feeling it's going to be the most important election in my lifetime.

How about electing George Washington as the first president or Lincoln prior to the Civil War.

Seriously, are we in the middle of or on the brink of a world war?
Are we going into another Great Depression?
Is the a Civil War looming?

No, No & No

We are facing a recession, are in a prolongled military conflict, are sick of our current leaders etc. Lot's of crap going on, but nothing quite so epic as to put this even on the short list of "most important"

Sorry, but our vote isn't as important as it is made out to be, simply because an election isn't as awesome and critical as we build it up to be. There are times in our history when the election was so much more important. And each election holds some sort of importance based on some item on the agenda. This isn't going to be any more critical then the last election was, or the last, or the one before that.

Life will go on, with or without your vote.

Why yes, yes I do.

I don't like either candidate, but I'm so sick of hearing about "change" I could puke. I don't want change, I want improvement. I want 50% of the federal government fired out of hand, I want every tv mouthpiece demanding that the feds take over my life hanged at dawn. I want every wealthy bleeding heart actor in Hollywood spouting off about how I need to pay more in taxes stripped of every cent they have. Mostly, I just want every asshole in this country to stop riding to power on the promise of giving away MY money.

I'd love a perz who's only goal was to stay out of the way.

Greenman for president!

I'm sick of people telling me who to vote for and why, and especially that this is "the most important election in history". I'm sick of all of this Obama hype that everyone seems to be caught up in. It's one thing to promise change. It's a completely different thing to actually make the change happen. The young people of this generation, the ones in college, or just out of college, or whatever, are the ones that are going to pay down the line for the crap that happens to this country. I'm just hoping that whoever wins doesn't bend us over and continue to fuck us in the ass.
