Fallout 3

Never has a game been hyped so much to be awesome but boy was I dissapointed. I don't but many games and every game I buy is always a good game and worth my purchase and multiple replays but this game has too many negatives to be fun.

Q*Bert. Not enough character development. I was crushed. I don't think I've ever fully recovered...

yes. worst ff to date. :( thirteen had better pick it up.

Quit expecting, it's JRPG, they play by formula, and it caters to the otaku culture of japan. The game was perfect for it's intended audience. NOTICE they released the same dynasty warrior idk 8-9 times.

Quake 4.

The game would have rocked if it wasn't so poorly done on the 360. Frames were terrible.

PC was good, just looked like doom 3. Bad multiplayer because of ping. But Lan is great, as always

Biggest disappointment for me has to be Halo 2. I played Halo:CE semi-competitively with my college roommates, and we were so pumped for the Halo 2 release. Most of us had exams or projects due the next day, but we planned a midnight LAN anyway. Basically, the entire night consisted of us exclaiming "WTF has Bungie done with Halo??"

Someone mentioned Halo 3, and I'd agree with him, except that my expectations were already broken after Halo 2.

If there was ever a Final Fantasy game that had clear signs of western influence, it was FFXII.

Dead Rising. Everyone seemed to love it so I tried it out thinking there's no way it can be bad, and I hated it. The only part of that game I liked was the actual zombie killing. Problem was that the rest of the game seemed utterly pointless. Apparently all you have to do is hang out for a few hours (three days in game time) until the helicopter shows up. When I tried doing missions, they didn't make sense, and then I'd die and have to go WAY back since there are so few save points. I got some mission where I was attacked by a random spanish dude for no reason and I couldn't hit him because the aiming is so terrible and he just kept running around and eventually shot me to death. Whoop-de-doo. Figured if I wanted to replay it I'd just leave the game running with me standing on the helipad, but then what's the damn point?

Imo nothing was as disappointing as final fantasy 8. After playing ff7 i was hooked and i remember reading all the video gaming magazines looking for more info and shots on ff8. I bought brave fencer musashi just for the ff8 video demo and parasite eve for the playable ff8 demo. Then the day came when ff8 was released and I couldn't believe how bad it was compared to 7. I couldn't believe how awful it was in comparison.

Another vote for Assassin's Crap. I was looking forward to that game for over a year and sold it after playing for 30 minutes. So so so bad.

Had the promise of my ideal game: Hitman + PoP + Splinter Cell....and it failed on every front. It was basically like those first ps2/xbox spiderman games where you could actually swing around the city, fun for about 15 minutes then you're done with it.

I was very disappointed when it was announced that Quake 3 would be MP only.
I'm a little surprised at all the love for SMB2 here, it's a good game, but falls below most of the other 2D Mario games (it's definitely above the sadistically difficult Super Mario Land).

I'm with cpmer, FF8. I cut my teeth on the original NES Final Fantasy way way way back in the day. Continued it on the SNES versions as well as FF7 on the PS1. FF8...what a POS.

SMB2 USA was fun. I know it's not really a Super Mario game and that the real SMB2 is known as the "Lost Levels" but I still liked it.

Well it turned out to be one of the best deathmatch fps games ever. Now after like 10 years its back in its full glory through quake live. At the same i can understand your pov. When it comes to rts games i generally don't care about the mp aspect cause mp rts games aren't my thing. I play them for the sp.

GTFO...:D

Sorry you didn't enjoy the game. I personally enjoyed it a ton, one of my favorite games in a long time.

I can't really think of a game that I'd say is most dissapointing. But I'd say Grandia Xtreme is one of the most dissapointing games to me. I thought the first two were so good, and then they made that load of crap. I also hated FF8. I played it and beat it, but did not enjoy it at all. I hated every single character in the game.

Dead Rising has its quirks (time limits, initial difficulty, etc.) and isn't for everyone. You described the first story mission, so it's not really surprising that nothing made sense.

Wasn't Daikatana so infamously bad that not many people even bought it? I've heard a lot of people talk about it, but I've never heard anyone talk about actually playing it.

I seem to recall that Daikatana was actually relegated to the Bargain Bin on release day in some markets.

For me:

PC: TRIBES 2
PlayStation: Final Fantasy 90210. I mean 8.
Genesis: Streets of Rage 3
Neo-Geo: Samurai Showdown III

hell i am an otaku at heart. my first rpg was ffiv in... 1991. i know the formula, and i love it. xii kind of went off on a different direction, and that is where it disappointed many.

in my book, ffvi was the best jrpg ever. vii had it's moments. x was great of it's own. compared to all these, xii was... boring.

There's a game I was super disappointed at that I'd actually blocked out. Quake 3. I played Quake 2 on a Rocket Arena server that was one of the most difficult in the country where I was an average player and on any other server I went to I was always by far the best player (that much better of a group of players on this server). I played Quake 2 daily for hours. When Quake 3 came out, I hated it. There was nothing about it I liked. I gave up playing Quake after that. In fact that started turning me off from FPS games in general.

On the other hand though, when Unreal Tournament came out I was upset because I'd loved the original Unreal so much I was afraid going multi player only would ruin it like Quake 3 did to Quake, but I loved UT.

Yeah, I remember that one.

I loved AC and was really looking forward to AC2.

The world was so empty; no shops, not a single NPC anywhere. It was a real shock after experiencing the richness of the original.

All you did was collect stuff and turn it into cash by pressing a button. No more dragging your overloaded ass to a mechant by the skin of your teeth to cash in your loot. It completely destroyed the immersion I felt playing the original AC. What a horrible miscalculation by the developers.

Plus - it was really buggy when it came out. A lot of features didn't work for me at all. I ended up controlling my char with the arrow keys (!) because I couldn't get any other ones to move him. Talk about awkward.

I lasted about 3 months.
