Why is New Orleans #13?

I can understand Camden and Detroit ahead of it, but seriously.

They obviously still have the old phoney data.

New Orleans Police were busted for faking the reports.

They took the majority of the killings and changed the documents to say they were petty shoplifting crimes instead.

yay, Michigan is #1

although Troy is number 12 on the safe list. and troy is only 6 miles out of detroit or so ( i live right next to troy.)

new york, ny: 6th safest city with a population of 500,000 or more.

so there.

I never had problems feeling safe in the city... did not feel safe in Chicago in comparison. I knew nobody would beat Detroit.

Edison being considered safe? That's pretty amazing... I'm surprised Paterson isn't up there in the dangerous category... people talk about it as the drug capital of the Northeast. To think it was once considered a place to move to... like Hackensack (if you listen to Billy Joel).

Hackensack is going downhill in some parts too... Jersey City and Hoboken aren't on the list anymore.

EDIT: Newark isn't on the list because they're starting to move corporations and entertainment into it. Also the airport means more funding for police and thus a drop in crime rate from increased police presence. Also, the new Devils stadium is going up there... it's still not that good though.

I can't believe the top 10 safe metro areas are half in WI.

Not that I think WI is unsafe or anything, but still that's a lot.

ahh Camden...where the aquarium is located, pretty awesome...until i got lost driving around the ghetto-est area i've ever seen...it was like something out of a movie, actually worse than what i've seen in movies...hehe...was so glad it was still daylight when i got lost...

You missed the "interesting" parts of the city obviously. A few nice samples:

Have to register for some of those links. I guess anywhere there's a ghetto, regardless of area/city, there will be crime. But nothing beats Sao Paulo Brasil 🙂

Dayton, OH
WTF? Really? I always thought Dayton was a nice town... Well, I was in Kettering/Beaver Creek, but everyone always told me we were in Dayton.

No dude... Dayton is ghetto through and through.

Funny that Dayton, Columbus, Cincinnatti and Cleveland make the lists. I love Ohio.
