Games where you start out with a squad, but a sudden cave in/locked door/force field separates you from your squad forcing you to go it alone for the rest of the game. I really wish they would just make a good squad AI.

Knives/clubs/axes that do infinitely more damage than bullets

Unbreakable/immovable crates... and crates in general

Checkpoint saves. Enough to ruin a game for me, like MOH:Airborne

Countless enemies that obviously spawn out of nowhere... again, in Airborne

Enemy AI that completely forgets your allies and focuses all its attention on you as soon as you shoot... like in Airborne.

Enemy AI that stays at the mounted machine gun even as you're blatantly flanking them... such as the case in Airborne (wow, I hate that game...)

Flashlight that only stay on for 20 seconds

Enemy snipers that can't see anything not directly in front of the obvious red laser

Enemy security cameras that take 10 seconds to recognize you

Yeah ... what is it with flashlights that have only 20 seconds of power on a weak beam that cast no shadows but recharge infinitely for exactly twenty more seconds?
[Source Engine games ... Substitute a "weak torch" for a flashlight in DM M&M]]
:Q

How about "unlimited ammo" ?
[Hg:L] :gift:

How about HDR being overused and abused?
[most games] :p
{substitute 'Shiny & Plastic-looking' for D3 Engine Games}

i mentioned this before but *resurrection* is the oldest cliche of all

-you get to come back to life and your enemies don't-

EDIT - *almost forgot* why is it in RPG-type games that animals you kill drop "treasures" ?
