Oh god no.

I have a friend who is a strategy game freak. The last thing I'll want is him wanting to play that AoE III on my computer so he can see all the graphic effects.

Looks stunning.

I haven't tried them all under all circumstances... to be honest, there isn't a lot of difference between them all.

HDR is quite nice, but it literally chopped my framerates in half. I promptly turned it off. It's not that nice. 😛

Yeah... it's games like this that would benefit greatly from dual 6800 Ultra's I bet.
 
Well........not many ppl here are fans of racing games, but I think Need For Speed Underground 2 looks pretty good!!..... it's a shame all the races are at night.

As far as FPS, I think FarCry...... HL2 it's great, the water it's very good, but with all the hype about this games I was expecting something amazing.
 
What, you dont think HL2's graphics are amazing?

I like need for Speed Underground 2... when your not moving. I hate (HATE) the blur effect, coupled with the neon lighting thats everywhere, and the fact that walls and roadblocks look exactly like streets (when your racing) it's incredibly annoying to navigate.

I tried 1-11. Not that much difference between them. Still too bright on the indoor levels, plus it kills your framerates. It will be interesting to see Valve's HDR in HL2. I am curious if it's just that HDR is a bit too bright in general (IMO) or if it's Crytek's implementation.

I thought that game looked sweet too
looks killer on a high end graphics card
I played it at 4xAA 1280x1024 and it looked so good
silky smooth too :thumbsup:

for what it was it was graphically beautiful as well, and it ran nice on my TNT2! 😀

My gosh that is beautiful, AOE2 is one of my all time faves. Are we supposed to *go to war* in one of those scenes? On the one hand, it's too beautiful to destroy, but on the other hand, I'd love to see how Microsoft manages to animate death and destruction 😛
 
Yes.

Doom3 textures (IMO) =Not that great. Plus the player models look really REALLY odd/ The only thing it has going for it are the shadows.

I still htink Half-Life 2 loks the greatest. I wanna see how HDR is implemented into it (Pics?_)
 
Of the upcoming games: The Elder Scrolls IV! There is no doubt. And a guy above asked if it had shadows... Yes it does. Look at http://pics.bbzzdd.com/users/zakee00/gamescrn_obliv_02-B.jpg"]THIS[/URL] screenshot for example. The gravestones cast shadows... only it's so realistic that you don't notice until you look hard. Just like in real life 😉 I'm sure that the shadows will be more visible when e.g. standing under a tree with the sun on top of the sky.

My Ti 4200 4X really isn't any good at modern games, so I can't say which current game is the most beautiful. But from screenshots and the little experience I have, I have to say FarCry for eye-candy and Half-life 2 for realism.

It will be interesting to see if they can keep a playable framerate with a ton of action on screen. Then again, I also wonder if Microsoft has a better grasp on implementing all the features of DX as they are the developers of the technology. So maybe they have a few tricks up their sleeves that allow them to truly harness the power of the graphics subsystem.

and the ending to Painkiller's exp pack BOoH has one of the most "beautiful" bosses and awe inspiring endings to a game - ever . . . . better than Diii's cyber-demon!
