I meant to rant on this earlier, but I'm just getting to it now...religious person or not, it seemed that it was pretty much an American tradition to have The Ten Commandments playing on TV on Easter night for as long as I can remember. Sure it 4hrs long and way over the top, but it was a tradition nonetheless (at least around these parts).

So this year ABC tosses it on the weekend before Easter... Oooook I guess. And in its place on Easter Sunday night? Thats right, the Nick and Jessica Variety Hour.

Moses should strike furious vengeance upon ABC I think.

Well it's not like The Ten Commandments has anything to do with Jesus, let alone the crucifiction. It made more sense to show Jesus Christ Superstar, but the old movie was god-awful (no pun intended) and the newer version probably isn't well suitable for the mass market.

I dunno about Moses, but if I was Charlton Heston, I'd be raining fire and brimstone down over the loss of another royalty check :D

Well since most guys pray to god daily to see a woman who looks half as good as Jessica it would seem their prayers have been answered!:)

Jessica Simpson has a short shelf-life. Moses can hop in and out of the spotlight whenever he wants. It's called prioritizing. ;)

Actually I think there's better lookin chicks in the movie than Jessica. Scrape that 1" of pancake makeup off and I dont think shes as great as everyone makes her out to be. (ok ok... her body is solid).

Time to put the crack pipe down. Although, it should be expected that someone who will never ever have a shot with her would try to downplay how pretty she is.

Let's review this situation. We can look at Jessica and Nick and their fabulous lifestyle or we can watch a guy older than dirt moving water and insects around all night..and you vote for the latter choice? :Q

I'm not watching either, so it doesn't matter to me which is on.

And if ANY of you plan on watching that varity show you are freakign sick in the head... enjoy skits containing Kermit the Frog and Mr. T.

Yeah THATS good program... MSG to Nick and Jessica (and more directly the people that keep throwing $$ at them), your 15mins of fame have been up for over an hour.

Kermit The Frog and Mr. T???
I'm going to have to rethink my TV choices for Sunday.
And my opinion of Homerboy. Nick and Jessica might be crap, but Kermit and Mr. T are both pretty awesome.

Ya know... after I typed that I thought about it too... KtF and MrT are certainly solid... but they are going to be in a skit with those 2 blonde morons... SadlY I dont know even if Kermit and Clubber Lane can save that.

uh...I always thought showing the Ten Commandments had more to do with Passover than Easter...
you know, just that whole thing about the freeing of the slaves.

I don't like to see traditions changed. It bothers me. TTC was always shown on Easter Sunday as far I can remember. Screw ABC, the Almost real Broadcasting Company.

Thou Shalt Carry The Ten Commandments
3 September 1999 (StudioBriefing)
ABC's decision not to air Cecil B. DeMille's classic Ten Commandments, The (1956) last Easter drew more irate phone calls than anything else that the network did last season, ABC's programming chief, Jeff Bader, has told the Washington Post. "After 21 years, the numbers ratings had eroded, so I thought by giving it a year rest it might actually help its performance, " Bader said. The 1956 spectacle, which stars Charlton Heston as Moses, will be shown next year on Palm Sunday, Bader promised. Easter, however, has been reserved for a new animated feature, Miracle Maker, The (1999) (TV), in which Ralph Fiennes provides the voice of Jesus.

wait wait... it wasnt aired one year at all? I dont recall that AT ALL... thats very odd. I guess I stand psuedo-corrected then. At least they aired it SOMETIME this year.

Also: "Also, Nick's hometown hero, Cincinnati Reds Hall of Famer Johnny Bench, drops in to teach Nick & Jessica how to hit like a pro. Jessica will also perform her new hit single, "Take My Breath Away." "

YEAH!
