Yea, I share some of the feeling mentioned here in this thread. I installed and played Morrowind about a year ago and could not really get into it. besides it didnt run too well on my rig (at the time).
A month ago I picked up the GOTY edition (my rig has since been completley upgraded) for both expansions for $30. Wow, good deal. I installed it and am playing it.....and am sometimes completely blown away by the depth and GFX. But it is of a slower pace and requires alot of time and reading (which for a FPS junkie, is sometimes a hassle). But I don't mind it so much....its good. But then I found myself not wanting to play it :-/ I think its because no matter what I did I felt like it was the wrong thing to do.....or rather, it could have been done better (going on the wrong quests, using the wrong weps...ugh).
But I heard good things about gothic II, picked it up, and played it for about 2 hours and really like it. Warning though, the GFX arnt nearly as good as Morrowind.
I guess what I'm getting at is that if you're going to play Morrowind, you need to realize its going to require a huge time investment. I didnt realize that. My bad. But looking foward to really tackleing it later on.
