Morrowind 2011 Graphical Project

I've heard of Morrowind 2009, but this is the first I've heard of 2011! I thought I'd let everyone here know about it. Its a huge compilation of all the best graphical mods to date for one of the best RPGs ever made.

I apologize in advance to those of you compelled to install Morrowind "one last time".

thanks, i just finished a heavily modded oblivion game and was going to give morrowind another shot as well.

And now it appears to be gone, citing copyright violations by compiling all the various mod works into a single package

WTF? Doesn't Bethesda own the rights to all mods via the EULA included in the Construction Set? I think that's the way it is with Oblivion; I can't imagine that it's different with Morrowind.

That seems retarded. So long as the include a readme.txt or something for each mod they packaged together with the original author and source . . .

Oddly enough, when I first posted that it was taken down, there was a bunch of text that the guy had put up on the page, saying that many people had complained and it was "going, going, gone". I just checked the page again and everything is there, without the mention about the copyright issues.

Get it while you can, I guess.

The instructions are on his new site as well. He does not link to the compilation on there to prevent it from being removed due to copyright violation so that new site should remain for a while.

If someone has first-hand experience with this mod, please post your impressions. I'm very curious...

Yeah, so how is this mod? Does it make it simple to add of the graphics updates to make Morrowind look pretty?

I first heard about this on reddit last week. I've been waiting for him to polish the compilation since I've read there were some old versions, bugs, and incompatible mods placed together. There are a few other compilations that are just as, if not more visually appealing, it's just that this one makes the installation process a breeze.

While I was waiting I saw this a couple days ago. An Italian team has been working on this particular comp. for a couple years now and are ready to release. It's also a quick 5min install like 2011GP.

The original download was yanked because of the wailing of some smug modders who made content for a nearly 10 year old game and felt slighted because some upstart wanted to make things easier for the end user to appreciate said mod content.

So are these only graphical mods and updates, or are there gameplay and other tweaks in there to?

I like how AT is fine with pirating from community modders giving their content away for free, but not giant corporations looking to rape them as much as possible.

Wait, these modders were charging for their content? I don't believe you can do that if it's not your own game.

If these guys are just bitching cause someone released their mod in a pack, then boo freakin hoo. Aren't all mods technically the property of Bethesda anyway?
