My question is when are the full albums coming out?

The intro to that song is amazing. I rememmber a while back I cut that portion out and created a looped, weird edit of it.

This is a common complaint on the message boards and I managed to cook up my own little conspiracy theory:

I personally have 23 songs downloaded now and when I first load the game or sign out/sign in to different instrument when playing, it takes about 20-30 seconds. The "Loading Additional Content" pop-up box is up for that entire period of time. It seems like every week when I download more songs, the "Loading Additional Content" message stays up just a little longer.

Now, maybe it's just the Xbox Live shenanigans of the last few weeks that are affecting it, but I think it's possible that Harmonix wants to get a patch out that lowers those load times before releasing the massive wave of DLC that the albums would represent. I can only imagine how long the wait would be if I owned several 11-12 track albums in addition to my current collection.

So I'm just speculating that maybe Harmonix wants to get a patch out to remove any unnecessary dissuasive elements from the DLC before the albums hit before it starts taking people 2-3 minutes just to load the DLC and customers shy away from more DLC because of that reason.

Now let me adjust my tinfoil hat.

I just hope that they would introduce 'rent a song' feature for smaller price then current structure. Yeah, the price of $2 per song (for most of the songs currently available on DLC) does not seem high until you load 20-30 tracks and suddenly realize that you spent 60 bucks for songs that you played once or twice and never came back to. I don't know about everybody else, but I usually don't come back to a song once I've beaten it unless I really really like it. So for me, being able to download a song for 24 hour period for something like $.5 play it and forget it would be perfect. That way I would not hesitate 'sampling' every song appearing on DLC and in the end would give more money to the publisher while at the same time having more fun in the process. And if I find that one song really struck a cord in my heart, I would not hesitate buying it for repeated playing.

If I were downloading the songs just to beat them myself, I'd wholeheartedly agree with you. But usually when buying the DLC I try to take the rest of our usual RB groups into consideration so that the DLC almost always gets played early in the game session. The girls always want to sing "Brass in Pocket", everyone seems to like the Black Crowes song from last week, and I don't think there's been a game session that "Juke Box Hero" hasn't been one of the first 2-3 songs played. :p

So for me, it's worth it to buy. It would be nice to have a rental option for your case but I don't think it will be high on the developer's to-do list.

I'm with you CK, I try to buy songs that I know the whole group will have fun playing. It's even forced me to go out and buy the $50 memory card.

But yes, I only have about 10 songs downloaded and its a PITA to wait for the loading content screen.

any cheap way to soundproof my drums. I hear the clack against the drums more so then the sound from the game.

Kotaku has posted a lot on this: Link to Search Results for "Rock Band Drums"

Adhesive felt, gum rubber and special drumsticks seem to be popular right now. I'm definitely going to perform at least one of these mods eventually, but I want to wait another month or two to see what else the community comes up with.

I believe there's a mod on here, try a search - or you can check the RB forums, they have a bunch of mods. I think the most simple way is to go out and buy a pair of the practice drum sticks, which have a rubber piece on the tip that lets them bounce better also.

i did the foam rubber with felt on top mod and it looks nice and plays ok. I think I'm going to switch to the gum rubber because the rebound is nicer.
