Yes, but there will no doubt be low end derivatives (7600 and some slightly updated cards from ATi in the vein of the X1600/X1300)

Hope it's a hard launch that day.

with the 580 working on this thing for as long as they have, i certainly hope so

Plus if it's pin compatible with R520 it should be easy enough to change production.

Did a google search on X1900, a couple sites came up, and the only information they had was that we should expect $1000 video cards in 06. Is there really a market for $1000 cards? And do they really look that much better than a $300 card?

X1900....another dual slot cooler? WTF.....I HATE dual slot coolers that are loud and annoying...if it must be dual slot, get a VF700 or NV/ATI silencer darn it!

Umm....no? You can better get around $800 USD for a CPU if it is something like a 4800+ X2 of an Athlon FX (the P4EEs are a lot more....but people seem to buy a small amount of those as well) But I don't forsee anyone paying 1000 for GPU....if what you found is right.

700 for the 512 GTX is insane, and 1000 is even worse...I don't know why they would bother to release it...it'd be a major loss....for either NV or ATI

Both companies will keep pushing the MSRP until the consumers stop buying them at such costs. Look at the 7800GTX 512 for example. MSRP = $649. Street Price = $749 and people want it bad. As long as their is demand, expect the MSRP to keep creeping up. Ofcourse, the card has to perform well also, and the 7800GTX 512 does that.

When you look at that $750 people are already paying, I guess it's not that big of a jump to $1000.

We need somebody that can translate that site word for word into english for us. They always have the inside scoop on alot of this stuff! Also on top end cards like that I would love to see them sell the things without cooler for reduced $ and let us put on a decent=quiet cooler(I suppose they couldn't provide the same warranty then).

Everywhere I look, I see the GTX512 for over $1000 Canadian....not that I would buy one. THe X1800XT that you can get for about $650 Canadian looks a whole lot better...not that I would buy one of those either...:D
