YOU DON'T SWIM AT 7AM!!!!
why have people not learned this? Do not swim in waters known to have sharks at any time around dawn or dusk... these are feeding times. This has been known for a long while, but apparently not exactly spread as important information.
It's kind of funny in a sad way, that surfers and other athletes continue to train in the early morning, and well... as the years go by, every now and then someone is attacked. Now, it seems sharks don't exactly like the taste of humans, because after that first bite they turn away, unless you piss them off, then it becomes an attack to kill.
And while it sounds like sharks aren't normally seen in that area... any region in which sharks are known to be in poses that chance. Don't blame the shark for this, the water is NOT out territory, whether we want to accept that fact or not.
Sharks don't like humans, but our wet suits, surf boards, and kayaks, look a LOT like a big shark's prey to their not so good eyes. They sense life though, and want to get a taste of sweet sweet animal, though we aren't so sweet.
But needless to say, if I saw a creature that WAS a shark's natural prey in the same area, I wouldn't be swimming in the morning. Hell no. I'll take risks and LOVE the water, but I respect the water. When there is prey in the area, there is predator. The article hit a good point suggesting that the swimmer looked like prey with the wet suit, but it could have still been possible without the wet suit.
But now they are probably going to kill this shark if they find it. Thing just wanted a meal. Getting in the water, it should be an assumed risk that we are offering ourselves up. Look at any other water predators and how other animals treat the water. Sometimes getting in the water is necessary but there are risks...
