I see the typical ATI bashers are out in full in this thread :frown:

Anytime you mention ANYTHING bad about SLI, Rollo comes to the save the day

Funny indeed.

just a note, it's LIBELous, not slanderous. And I suggest you actually look up the definition of words you don't know how to use properly:

li·bel Audio pronunciation of "libel" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (lbl)

Meh, 2 old guys, they all look alike to me :p

Anyway, I think the flame fest has gone too far, but since I can't resist playing devil's advocate, I'll post you 2 benchmarks where a x850xtpe beats 2x 6800gt SLI'd, at 1600*1200 +AA/AF

http://techreport.com/reviews/2004q4/radeon-x850xt/index.x?pg=6

http://techreport.com/reviews/2004q4/radeon-x850xt/index.x?pg=8

Yeah, yeah, I know it's only 2 examples so far, but still it funny seeing a single card beating 2 similar cards combined.

This is getting completely ridiculous on both sides.

However Bar81 has started this with these heavily slanted and biased remarks.

If you hadn't been such a smarta$$ in your posts Bar81, essentially provoking a defense then we wouldn't be doing this right now. If you are going to point out every minor problem with a set of BETA drivers FINE. So do it in the driver thread and drop it. THere is no need to go on a tyrade insulting everything because of 1 MINOR problem. Get over it. Just like i said in your last thread, why are you whining and complaining to us about this?? Can we do anything that you cant. Evidently if you can see all the errors in everything everyone needs a Bar81 at their side.

FYI: No i have no college degree. I have no High School diploma. Yes, I am a High School student. But why does that matter? I have just proven i can make a valid argument as good as anyone in this forum.

Here is an idea: Edit your thread to say, something along the lines of "Possible bug with latest Nvidia BETA drivers". Then in the thread do not throw out random insults, but say "Based on numerous reports these latest drivers seem to have problem with 3d Glasses. If you have 3d Glasses i would recommend that you use an older driver or wait for a newer one." That is all you have to do!?

All you have done in this thread is thrown out random insults (You cannot say they were provocated as your blatant opening remarks sparked this tension).

That would be because HL2 is so superbly designed and optimized even at high detail it is still somewhat CPU limited. If you look, after they raise the resolution and after they turn on AA and AF the SLI'd cards begin to pull away.

All I've done is report the truth. If that gets some upset, there's really not much I can do about it. As to "provoking" a defense, my retort is that I'm not "provoking" anything but for the sake of argument let's say I am, why anyone would need to mount a "defense" of nvidia is beyond me, unless of course.... THEY ARE ON THE PAYROLL. As to it being a minor issue, I don't see where I stated otherwise and if the payroll hadn't freaked out (as usual) then it wouldn't have been a "big issue" Their impassioned defense of the signer of their checks is what made this into a "big issue" On second thought, I guess it's all my fault, you're right I'm just going to go and cry now, thanks for setting me "straight"

ps if you want to see ridiculous threads all you have to look for is the payroll sponsored ones the latest of which is in the video section.

If you were able to provide a well thought out post without wording it in such as way that makes you appear like you're a flaming ass, maybe you wouldn't have the problems that you do.

But instead, you'd rather be vehement. The responses that you see are exactly based on the way that you present yourself.

That is the exact thing i am talking about. Your constant references to "the payroll" and what not is what starts sh!t like this. Yes, you did provoke all of this. By including such comments such as "Nvidia's crack driver team has done it again" is dripping with irony and sarcasm. It is a completely slanted point of view. Like i said earlier if you want to present the truth then present it without a bias or dont present it at all.

When in my post did i every "set you straight"? I merely pointed out what was happening in this thread and stated my point of view on the topic.

You put people on the defensive by constantly insulting them. I mean look at your sig!!! Not only that your incredibly slanted posts don't help matters.

You also claim you are reporting the truth. Ok good. It is always nice to know from a member if there is problem with Beta drivers. Cool, like i said earlier you could have just non-chalantly stated it without inserting any slander and everything would be just fine. Instead you post this mess for the second time!!

I still am waiting on a response to my age. Looks to me, Bar81, that you have no response and no counter argument to accurately defend your side. Many people would refer to this thread as a "Moot point".

OOOOOOOH, "flaming ass" Is this the part where you're providing "honest, unbiased, intelligent feedback on pretty much anything at this point" Or is the "flaming ass" comment where I'm throwing out "unjustified" insults and the saintly payroll is the poor, sad, never flaming victim.

Take a look in the mirror and put a stop payment on those checks.

While a rather rude way of putting it, and blunt for that matter; he is telling the truth. Everysingle time you have posted Bar you have insulted someone or something or made blatant, slanderous references.

Honestly, i have no problem debating Nvidia and ATI's situation on drivers. In fact it is a rather interesting argument. However; the fact that you cannot post a logical, well thought out post is somewhat annoying.

When you are ready to really change this thread (ie: Lose the bias) and return this thread back OT let me know and ill be happy to debate it.

You will fade. And we will laugh. This board loathes the day you ever arrived.

I really do wonder if you consider yourself witty. Do you? Do you think you're proving something here? Do you believe that you are fighting some sort of battle? Are you under the misguided notion that ANYONE here cares about you and your opinions?

I'm simply going to ignore you, because this banter, while it has been amusing, serves no purpose to me. It's truly a pity that you can't ignore and blank out a user's posts, because I would love to live in blissful ignorance of the drivel that you post.

That, however, won't stop my mission to see you gone. ;)

GET A CLUE PLEASE. First, saying nvidia's driver team is a joke is a matter of opinion and I can state it whether you and the payroll like it or not. If you don't agree then fine, but the facts bear out my contention. And I still don't see how my opinion "provokes a defense" People call out companies all the time, I am never "provoked" to defend any company. I guess you and I are going to have to agree to disagree on this point because if you don't understand this concept then we're not going to see eye to eye.

Honestly, nothing against your HS education, but you really need to learn the definition of words before you use them (i.e. slander) Not only is that the incorrect word in this situation, you actually want to used the term libel. Oh, forget it, just look up several posts where I correct a member with the exact same problem.

As to my sig, if the payroll hadn't, pathetically I might add, tried to ban me it wouldn't have come about. If anything they "provoked" me.

On a final note, PLEASE for everyone's sake look up the definition of "moot point" and learn how to use it properly. I'm sorry to harp on these things but it's really painful to see the English language so improperly applied.

I can't resist this one, I'm sorry.

One, it's still, not steel. Two, it's situation, not sitution.

Try not to educate someone on the English language when you have spelling problems. ;)

It's called a typo(s). You're so pathetic if you think a typo is a point you can hang on. But I would expect nothing less from the payroll and its vast stores of "honest, unbiased, intelligent feedback on pretty much anything at this point"

Yes, you can state your opinion. It is a free world and a free messaging board. However it hinders other posts and thread when you bost threads that are so slanted to one side that a response is necessary to level things out.

Oh so im part of the payroll to now? Ok, well please explain how that is now that you know i am in High School still. I cant possibly hold a full time job in California, when i am a High School Student in Virginia.

Why are you brining up grammar? Do you have nothing left to argue that you must resort to correcting my grammar? As for English, i can see your point about slander and libel. I have taken Journalism (didn't like it too much though). Slander is spoken whereas libel is written, so i can see that. I know what "moot point" is. It is essentially saying that the point trying to be made simply could have been avoided and resolved. Additionally it says that there is nothing to argue. Hence i used "moot point" in the correct context, although somewhat stretched ill admit.

While we are talking about my grammar how about i throw this out on the table, just to spice things up.

Your thread says, "One step forward, two steps back". Then in the thread you say that Widescreen is a much larger problem then 3d Glasses are. So would that negate you subtopic point? Shouldn't it read two steps forward one step back. Because also according to you Widescreen users make up a huge part of the PC Users here (that was cited from your last rant about how bad Nvidia's drivers are).

It would seem i have a clue, and can accurately convey all of my thoughts into one logical and sensible post. Also it seems that i also do not have to result to insults to get my point across.

What facts are you referring to? The fact that nVidia has a few known driver issues with their dual video card setup, that has been publicly available for months, when ATi has not yet been able to even publicly demo or produce benchmarks for a similar project in spite of the fact that they supposedly already had multi-gpu technology? Is that the fact that makes the nVidia driver team a joke to you, or were you referring to some other fact?
