It's interesting that so many kobe haters are out there... and once there is a thread or book about him... everyone chimes in saying stuff like good riddance, he's a rapist and a snitch blah blah...

Is that what Phil and probably the media is actually doing, playing to the public's demand and hate of kobe just to sell books or papers?

Not me, I'm just trying to bump my post count ! :D

Actually, I found it funny that with the Laker's now Kobe's team, he scored 35 last night, in a LOSS. He needs more than himself, even if he wouldn't admit it before. See A.I. in Philadephia for evidence of how one offensive force cannot carry a team to win the NBA Finals.

I'm not trying to be a jerk. I don't care about Kobe or the Lakers. If his teammates say he's reserved, then he's probably reserved. Whatever.

However, I still don't understand how this relates to how many Lakers games you've watched. And I still don't see any sources telling me that Phil Jackson and Shaq tried to sabotage Kobe. Plus, where's your proof that the "NBA decided that the Lakers would not win the series?" It just sounds like fanboy babbling.

That's what we mean when we say your argument doesn't hold water.

It relates to how many games you watch because then you can get beyond the hype. You can see how Kobe does all of the little things that make him a truly great player. You can see how Shaq has been out of shape for the last three years.

You can see how Phil purposely does not try to help Kobe in the Laker offense in order to make a point to Kobe that he is the mighty Phil Jackson and you will bow down to his rule. The problem is that the Lakers have lacked talent for the past couple years and was desperate for more help from Kobe and Shaq. But, when Shaq is out of shape, mostly because Phil refused to push Shaq to be in shape, then it's obvious that Kobe needs to be more of a focus on offense. But, then Phil refuses to set screens for him or run any kind of play that would make scoring easier for him. That is sabotaging the team. He knows Kobe could do more, but he refuses to let him fearing that doing so would hurt his own pride. Then, when Kobe goes out of his mind on the court helping the team win, Phil has the nerve to tell him that he's not fitting into the system and so he's hurting the team.

And what's even worse, Phil refuses to keep all of his criticism of Kobe in the locker room and would rather spoonfeed it to the media which hounds the team daily, trying to create turmoil during a tough time for Kobe. The media has proven throughout Kobe's career that they'd love nothing more than for him to fall on his face. The last year they went for the kill with Kobe on the ropes. And Phil just didn't care. His domination of Kobe was more important than team harmony.

Regarding the finals, I'm just not going to bother arguing over it anymore. I watched the games. I have the footage, I have the tapes. Whenever I get time I'll make it painfully obvious for all of you that something was not right. I can't express how stunned I am by the willingness of so many to let their hate for the Lakers cloud their judgment. But for now, if you're hungry for something more tangible, go look at the free throw statistics in game 4.

Hey at least you can talk sports.... unlike many that have posted here I bet.

AI is the worst thing that can happen to ANY team in the NBA.
1. He is a ballhog
2. He doesnt realize he cant shoot well.
3. When he scores a lot his team loses.
4. He never gets along well with his coach.
5. His ass was handed to him in the olympics.

All this talk about how great he is amazes me. Sure 1 on 1 with someone his same size he'd do fine but on a team he is garbage. (Just had to jump on that little side note.)

ugh...

This season is going to be a long one around here with all the layzie310's sticking up for kobe. #8 is a bad guy, plain and simple.

Sure he has awesome bball skills, but:

  • he's an egomaniac who as a teenager brought dates home to watch videos of HIS highschool games.

he ratted out a teammate when HE screwed up (no teammate will EVER trust him again).

he testified that he basically sexually assaulted a girl after she agreed to have sex with him at which point he stopped (and later had to finish the job himself).

he also testified that he has/had a regular booty call partner named michelle in NY who seems to enjoy being strangled while taking it violently in the backside.

he, along with his idiot owner, broke apart a dynasty.

he is the only superstar Jackson ever coached who didn't love the experience.

he alienates everyone close to him and by most accounts has no friends.

he does nothing of note for any charity.

he lies. and lies. and lies.

These fanboys will love it this year. Kobe gets 35-40 per night as the lakers become the vince carter raptors/tmac magic and struggle to make the playoffs. Last night's game is going to be the theme all year... kobe scores, lakers lose.

And before you go spouting out how great your Lakers knowledge is, check yourself The guy in the lakers sweatshirt and the Angels cap? Uh, ya, that'd be me. Photographer? Bryan Russell.

there's a big difference between talking about sports in a relatively unbiased manner.....and just being a lame fanboy. don't give him that much credit.

Layzie310 I do hope you are being sarcastic!!! Any true laker fan that feels that Shaq and Phil gone is a good thing is definately NOT a laker fan. When you have the BEST coach ever in the game as you coach and one of the most dominant centers in the game you DON'T give them up for one player who really hasn't proved himself as a team player. Yes Kobe may be a great player, but he has issues with playing as a team. I'm a laker fan (and always will be) but I will admit I am very hurt that we got rid of Phil and Shaq, and there is no one to blame except Kobe (and maybe Bus).

Your a tool. Kobe has an attitude problem and is punk, plain and simple. He deserves every ounce of criticism he gets, he has been handed everything on a silver platter and still has a beef with the world. Screw Kobe. Phil Jackson was winning championships while Kobe was learning to read, I'll take his word any day over the accused rapist.

Here are the facts as I see them about Kobe

He's a great athlete but has a long way to go as a team player

He definitely has personality issues (there is to much evidence against him to deny that he's a selfish and spoiled individual)

I can't say for sure if he raped that girl but based on his behavior patterns there's a possibility that he may have done it
