Did your son die? Well, you are a joke.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/06/03/ted-cruz-joe-biden_n_7507284.html

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) made a crass and poorly timed joke about Vice President Joe Biden on Wednesday, days after Biden's son Beau died from brain cancer.

According to Detroit News reporter Chad Livengood, Cruz was speaking at a meeting of the Livingston County Republican Party outside Detroit when he mocked Biden.

"Vice President Joe Biden. You know the nice thing? You don't need a punch line," Cruz said.

Cruz later apologized in a post on his Facebook page.

"It was a mistake to use an old joke about Joe Biden during his time of grief, and I sincerely apologize," Cruz wrote. "The loss of his son is heartbreaking and tragic, and our prayers are very much with the Vice President and his family."

I do agree the "joke" was shitty and uncalled for.

More Steamer, stinking up the place.

The joke was ill timed, nothing more. The man apologized. Guess that's not good enough. Now its a "conservative" thing?

That's a 'joke'? I must have a different sense of humor than his supporters. Even so, that Biden's son just died doesn't shield him from criticism of his politics from opponents. That being said what Cruz said wasn't a political comment and as VP and thus "not worth a bucket of warm piss" and not (for now anyway) a declared candidate I'm unsure why he is even bothering to mock Biden at all.

Is this really a concern worth discussing? He made a joke that wasnt directed at his son. He also issued an apology due to his sons death. I can think of many worse things to be outraged over.

Agree, if he had actually made a joke about the VP's loss (which he never would have done) his career would be rightfully over.

As it is, it's just poorly timed because of what Biden is going through right now. He apologized, that's it as far as I'm concerned.

Cruz is a boob for other reasons.

I totally agree with your post.

I don't know much about Cruz except that he says really dumb shit.

making fun of Joe Biden has been a favored national pasttime for 20 years now.

obviously the "joke" was poorly timed given the loss that the Biden family is dealing with, but it's not exactly offensive or anything.

As a conservative, there's not much else Cruz *can* say to toe the party line.

It's all dumb shit, some of it more easily recognized than other parts.

But why poke Biden at all, let alone now? Its not like he's a candidate or looking like he's gearing up to be one.

Tearing down the opposition. It's been the Repub MO since 2008. Otherwise, they got nuthin'.

I know you are trolling but I'm being serious.

Biden isn't the competition. Why poke him?

I think because he's so pokeable. He's always been a bit of a punchline. search his name on The Onion, they've had some hilarious takedowns.

Seriously? That's a Repub thing?

Do Democrats have ANY self awareness?

"There is by now evidence from a variety of laboratories around the world using a variety of methodological techniques leading to the virtually inescapable conclusion that the cognitive-motivational styles of leftists and rightists are quite different. This research consistently finds that conservatism is positively associated with heightened epistemic concerns for order, structure, closure, certainty, consistency, simplicity, and familiarity, as well as existential concerns such as perceptions of danger, sensitivity to threat, and death anxiety."

So before you start worrying about the self awareness of others you might want first to remedy your basement level ignorance of simple known fact regarding the world around you and only then turn our attention to the matter of self awareness if you want to have the faintest clue.

Projection at its finest.

The only things you offer this forum is personal attacks, insults and incoherent ramblings that no one cares about. When was the last time you posted something that wasn't one of those three things? I'm half tempted to go through your posts and tally them up.

But unlike you, I have a job to do. So instead, kindly fuck off sir.

Certainly more than Righties.

WRT my original point, witness the string of trumped up conspiracy theory "scandals" from Birtherism to the present. What was Birtherism other than tearing down the opposition?

The rest are really no different. They're what the leadership provides the flock to occupy their minds. Don't look at what we've done & what we offer- look at how bad those other guys are. Do your thinking with the head of your dick instead of the head on your shoulders.

Witness the predictions of Doom! about the ACA and the ongoing effort to tear down a program that has insured millions and would have insured millions more if not for some conservative judges legislating from the bench.

Witness the insane pandering to fear over negotiations with Iran.

Witness Kansas. They threaten to tear down the State judicial system if their SCOTUS won't go along with their school funding plan.

What else have they torn down in recent memory? They tore down the financial regulations of the New Deal to create the Ownership Society, not to mention tearing down Iraq, either.

Moonbeam's style is pretty sublime. Certainly not incoherent but he will make you think about the meaning of a lot he writes. Or you could discount it as incoherent rambling.
