I was thinking around $2K :p

$2000 = $1250 + $600

Well, he's an artist. No way he'll argue with that. You're helping him out with his craft, he's helping you out with yours :p

Just remember that he could very well be a bullsh*t artist too so make sure you get enough to cover the bs factor.

Because my .NET version of the domain has work-related projects that I don't want to share with ATOT.

I"ve been to his .US version for the domain and have done a whois search on him. All seams legit.

i dont think you should take advantage of the situation. you dont appear to really want it that badly since you are even considering giving it to him at all.

I wouldn't go any lower than $200 depending on the domain.

How much is the domain worth to you? If he can match/beat that, sell it. If not, don't. It's really that simple.

There's certainly no moral question, though if I were in your position I would advise him to buy the .com if he's going to buy one. Damn shame to dump money down a .net domain for a business.

That may be out of his price range though.

My only other thought would be if this goes for any significant amount (even a few hundred $$$) use an escrow service to make sure everything goes smoothly.

Sounds sincere enough.

Perhaps exchange a few more emails, get to know the guy... if he's for real, sell it to him for a nominal fee.

If the name is just the same as any other to you, I'd just sell it for $50 or so.
