Trading for one of his pieces of art may cost him a lot more depending on how he's sourcing for materials. I would simply spit it out for $350. It's mutually beneficial in that you're making a bit of cash and he's making a good investment with a guarantee in return. It's like giving business an advert space. Any idea what kind of price ranges he's selling his products for? You can sorta adjust based on that. If he's selling hand crafted chairs for $200, he's not making any money. On the otherhand if they're expensive (over $500 a piece) then definitely charge him a solid amount.
