just won a new egg shuffle for a gigabyte windforce 6700XT. I’ve never owned a gigabyte card, and don’t know anything about the windforce, but I bought it without thinking twice. Guess today is coming up endgame.

Mark, I've been reading some on "Servethehome" about being able to set different frequency and voltage on the 7002 Epycs, especially the ES versions. I did see that there is a thread for changing both on the 7001 line also and the ES versions seem to be unlocked. You might take a look and see if it is easy / possible for your 7551's to at least be set close to a retail stock version.

Don't ever listen to me though! I pushed one of my puters too hard in this race and it reset over the night... My hand tuned voltage and frequency curve was too stingy, though it worked last time? If it is not Windows updating on me, it is being too stingy with voltage / power for the frequency requested. I like to squeeze cpus too much I guess.

Hard to perform in a race when your stuff is not even running after a crash! :(
Do you have any links to what you are reading ?

Here are a few links. It looks like there is a need to read all the way through as sometimes the 1st post is not always updated with the good stuff. At least in the "Rome" thread a few ES samples were killed along the way by pushing specs too far, so be careful! I don't understand all that they are doing and not sure I would pursue ES samples without further understanding. There are a few tools created that look to have "safe" values figured out though.

This is the "Rome" overclocking thread. Mostly focused on the Engineering Samples and others that are not the "Retail" versions. For the 7002 series the retail versions seem to be the most locked down from what I've read so far.

This is the thread for the older Naples 7001 series. I only looked at the first page or 2.

Might be worth seeing if you can pump up the volume on the ES versions, but make sure that the tweaks work with the motherboard and ES sample versions!

Oh, the Funky Bunch are biting at your 3x heels! Not so much myself as I can't seem to keep over half my junk running full time, but the rest of the Funky's are coming for you!

Everything I have read is windows based. I have linux. I just put in a bid for a 7601 (the best naples) since the motherboard will only support 7001 series. 2.6 or 2.7 for $500 is way better than what I am getting.

There are some linux pokes in the Rome thread, though don't know if any of it translates to the Naples series.

Well, regardless, I am stuck with Naples, early bios (according the seller), so 7001 series is all I can do.

Day 6 stats. Just one day left! Kiska joined in for some last minute crunching, and even though SystemViper stopped actively running the project, he's still getting credited for work done during the challenge so I'm going to continue including him here. :)

Additional stats for anyone who might be interested. We are currently in 5th place in the FB sprint for WCG, with a VERY close race among all of the teams between 5th and 10th places!

I set up client instances and WCG device profiles such that some of my computers run the memory-intensive and supposedly cache-intensive ARP on half of their hardware threads. The other instances run a random mix of OPN and MCM. And HSTB if they can get any, but I have seen none of those yet. I excluded MIP, because that would be cache heavy too.

When the ARP-only instances finish several jobs together, I am getting a sizable backlog of file uploads: Each result has got 6 big files and 1 small file, together about 90…100 MBytes, and this sure takes a while to upload through my home cable link.

I didn't pit any GPUs to the new OPNG. I wasn't keen on the unreliable work availability, and didn't want to actively fish for work.

The Funky Bunch advanced by the length of a metric nose. But can they keep it up through the final lap?

Yeah, I managed to get even closer to @lane42  Now I'm below the 100k delta threshold... Just have to keep going... I've almost got him... Almost... there... homer.PNG

Well, I just got a 7601 to replace that crappy 7551. so thats 2.7 ghz vs 1 ghz.... Both 32 cores.

And $540 for 2.7 all core for 32 cores is cheap compared to a 5950x, even though they are slow... that would equate to 16 5.4 ghz or more total power... Except its Zen1 compared to Zen 3.

At any rate, close.

By other 2 7601s are doing the pandemic units at 3:10 vs 1:30-1:50 for a 5950x, so about 1/2 of a 5950x but twice the cores for 2/3rd's the price.

You just may 6k, hey that rhythms :)
I just switched some to Prime Grid to see how the WW
workunits will do. Not sure about the cpu work there yet.
Running both P/G GPU and WCG cpu.
If it weren't for day 3 stats we would be neck and neck.
I better go check Free-DC stats, don't want you getting to close :)

Yeah, day 3 was a bummer :D But a fun race anyhow. Although it isn't over yet, there's nothing that could change the outcome that much, you could even stop running WCG altogether ;) Already looking forward to the next race :)

Final stats for the team challenge. We did a total of 21,163,371 credits during the week, for a daily average of 3,023,338 PPD. That's pretty impressive and puts us at #5 in overall production for the week!

Also, welcome to Private Gomer Pyle who joined the team and BOINC as a new cruncher yesterday!

And there is a PrimeGrid challenge running the WW application starting in about 6 hours if any of you are interested in participating.

I'll be switching GPUs to PrimeGrid. Will continue to try and snare the elusive OPNG work until then.

The Bunch gave everything they got against one-man team Mark. Excitement rose to unprecedented levels when the finish got in sight, the run-in got a little chaotic, somebody's elbows must have grazed the goalposts, shifting them just so slightly... and team Marky Mark won!

@Fardringle & @StefanR5R: Thanks for keeping the suspense going, with stats and funny commentary :)

Only 65k, very close :)
Good race 6k :beercheers:
Ditto :) Yeah, a really fun race- a good thing we kept it going after day 3 :)

On a related note, I used the excitement over here to sneak past you in F@H, for a brief moment ;)
F@H.PNG

Just kidding, but what a coincidence :D

What an enjoyable week, this was a great idea! Already excited to see what'll be next month's team event :) Have a great Sunday, y'all :)

:) :beermug:
I usually only do F@H at the December race.
Oh yeah, this year, I'll be there too. It's already on my calendar :) But my hopes of having a new GPU ready by then are rather low... In hindsight, extending the warranty on my trusty old Maxwell Titan X to 10 years (it's an Evga) back then might actually turn out to be a wise decision :D Soon, it'll be in its 7th year already... Never have I actively used a GPU this long, in my main rig ;)

Awesome turn out guys.

Next team race will be the first full week of May.
May 2 - 9. We can start thinking of which project we wanna run now. No need to make it a secret
