Monster Cable Kit 2.1

Definately not worth the money, especially considering they cost about 25% of the speakers' original price.

Its nothing you couldnt make yourself fora fraction of the cost from Radio Shack. But if your happy then it was a good purchase.

Yeah I think they are too expensive for cables, but if they make the sound at least a little better, than I'll be happy.

I doubt I could make anything like these. I know next to nothing about cabling.

Anyone using this cable kit upgrade with their ProMedia 2.1? Is it a worthy upgrade?

I hope so seeing as I just ordered one for $35.80. 🙂

I bought these only because I was having a problem with static while using the included cables. It fixed the static problem, but I don't think it would improve the sound if you aren't having any issues.

As long as you're happy with them then it doesn't really matter

I'll only be happy if they make the system sound better or get rid of any static I may or may not have (I don't have the ProMedia 2.1 yet). Considering the cables that come with the ProMedia 2.1 are very thin and very basic, I think there is a good chance this upgrade kit will make a difference.

its no better than making your own with regular 16 gauge zip cord. unless the standard cable is really bad there will be no difference.

These cables will transform the sound of your ProMedia 2.1's. The Magnetic Flux Tube helps eliminate Cu skin effect, and enhances frequency response for laserlike crystalline high's. The PureSolid copper technology improves electron transients, which will dramatically improve bass response, for a balanced mid-bass transition while maintaining the low frequncy SLAM.

In short, I'm not sure how anyone can listen to ProMedia's without these.

Oh. Is that fact?

yes.

do some research. these are computer speakers, not a $40,000 audiophile setup.

Research on this has proven to be difficult for me. However, it's possible to make this exact same cable cheaper? And I'm using this system for my Xbox only.

So,
Proven Monster Cable XP technology; Magnetic Flux Tube® and special cable windings for natural music reproduction.
Impressive clarity, bass response, and dynamic range in a compact design.
Special LPE insulation reduces signal loss and distortion.

is all BS used as a marketing gimmick?

Somehow I don't believe you...

Here's a pic of the wires from my ProMedia 5.1, which I think are the same as the 2.1. It's not a very good picture.See Pic

Oh, here's the 2.1 cables

its your money 🙂

the main thing in audio cables for speakers is gauge vs the lenght of the run. 16 gauge is good for the 15 foot lenghs that the monster cable package youre getting has, not its "magnetic flux capacitors" or whatever. and yes, its marketing BS.

if youre THAT worried about sound, directly solder the cables to the amp and speakers. that will do far far more than the magnetic flux capacitor.

"Magnetic Flux Capacitor". It's Magnetic Flux Tube.

Well, when I get the speakers and the upgrade wire kit, I'll test to see if there is any difference in sound as best as I can, which isn't saying much. Also, I may get static through the included wires, which I wouldn't get through the Monster cable.

If nothing else, they will look better then the included wires.

if youre good with an soldering iron, yes. cost about 10 bucks maybe.

I've never used a soldering iron before, they look kinda scary...

true it will look good.

the only info about "magnetic flux tubes" Ive found is some esoteric research about the sun and solar flare. Im dying to know how it applies to audio.

ps I run multi thousand watt sound reinforcement systems for live bands. Ive never heard of that.

anyway, it will be a good setup, youll be happy with it.

LOL

try googling "tice clock" for another audiophile doublespeak class.
sad thing is that i have really good audio components and can hear the differences. people that write copy like this are just babbling meaningless (literally) technospeak. and it makes me very suspicious of their product.

Dude. I have a TICE plugged into my PC to go along with my Monster 2.1 kit. These promedia sound better than most speakers costing 3-4 times as much.

And if *you* can't hear the difference, well, maybe the regular zip cord wires are good enough for non-audiopiles.

I don't know where merlocka copied that from. It doesn't even say that on the Klipsch website...
