Confused,

I went to my local OfficeMax. When I showed him a few SKUs I wrote down he said those number did not look like SKUs that they ahve loaded into the system. He then told me to try Office Depot. I thought that I may have gotten it wrong so I did and had no luck there either. Can someone guide me in the right direction. I want to get there early and try to get some of these items.
 
Just as Glenn stated, I was told that the P986 is the replacement for the PX-9825 and if the sale is legit he will sell the P986 for the clearence price.

Went to my local OMX and they had plenty of the EMC 19" Mirage Monitor Model PX-986 for $299.. I took one of the calls tags..but I believe the SKU is 14267544..which is way different than the one Neo posted earlier today.

So I didn't buy it..since they had 4 of 'em and it was close to closing time....I wonder if this is going to ring up tomorrow for $130 ??

I guess we'll find out tomorrow!

NeoV - Thanks for posting the deals. That Nokia 445Xpro is the same model I have. Amazing display isn't it? I think all those 15" Proview TFT's were cleaned out months ago for $299 when they were posted here.
 
RGN, did you check out the Deerfield store? I don't feel like driving over there (Libertyville) and they said they don't have anything.

TO jaybittle and everyone is NY -- I had the levitown store transfer 3 of those TFT -pt500's back in sept for me and my bro and pops .... They didn't know what to do with them so they sold them as misc sku### I guess they never updated their inventory....

Sorry but.... ohh well I'm not gonna stop you from just checking!!!
 
Has anybody actually found any of these TFT monitors? I checked out two stores in the Minneapolis area. They had a couple of CRTs selling at full price. Nobody had the TFT monitors even though their inventory stated they did.
 
I found a store this morning (Sat) that had the PX-982 tags. I got an employee to do a price check on the computer, but it still rang up as $299. I wonder how long it takes for the price change to filter down from corporate?
 
actually the orig post stated that the prices start on Saturday
but he also stated:
as usual, some stores may not get the prices on time, and may not get them until Sunday or even Monday...but

BTW, this is not a regular advertised sale! These are price reductions in their computer system.
 
Argh, that was fun. I went to my local Office Max just after they opened this morning. The girl at the customer service desk asked me what the list was before running the SKUs. When I told her monitors, she informed me that they don't carry monitors except through the Gateway Country section. So I went right over to where they usually have them, and sure enough, there's a 15" and a 19" Proview. So I took the tag for the 19" up to her and asked for her to check the price. She told me she didn't think they had it in stock, even though it showed one. I was like, uh, there's one right over there. It was the display model, and still rang up at $299. They had 3 15" ones left, but they were still ringing up at $159 and I don't see that one in the list of ones going on sale(I figure they're all going on sale since they're going to stop carrying monitors). I didn't get the SKU, but the model number is PX-5605, anybody know if that's one of these? I'll probably try back again tomorrow and/or Monday. Doubt I'll get the 19" for $130 when I can get a much better monitor for not much more. But if I can get the 15" ones for dirt cheap, that would work.

different OM because the manager asked me what was going on, and I told her
and she said if you brought them back she would not price match it for you.
(Advertised deals only is what she said) so looking out for other ANANDTECH'ers
take it somewhere else.. btw thanks for thinking of me when you took them all.
 
heavnst- I got one of the ones at merriam, but i don't think it's the right one. this is the shop where they "couldn't search inventory by sku" and all of the proviews they had were the 986- i did buy one but i don't think it's the right one. The guy from lawrence bought 2!! and when did you go? i went after 7 pm...

but i thought the manager was a guy?

and i do plan to go to main to price adjust 😉
