"Monday" can be used in a racially derogatory context. It's more derogatory in general. "he's a monday", "why?", "because nobody likes a monday!".

IMO, not racist in itself, but can be seen that way.

You can trim the headlines and make jokes about why did Monday become a racist term but it's pretty clear to me that the police officer really is screwed up in the head and needed to get fired. But it's pretty clear he will be playing the ignorance card "I didn't know Monday meant that" to try to get out of it.

yeah, I can see that. most of us are obviously ignorant about this term--myself included--but the history is quite clear, as it pertains to this dude's neighborhood, and what he obviously meant.
