This is fraudulent (regardless of 130nm vs 90nm) because they sent me an OEM CPU, and I ordered a retail CPU.

Calm down. Mistakes happen. I've dealt with Monarch a couple of times and both times, Sterling, was very helpful. Great stand up staff. You be nice to them, they'll be nice to you. You're the customer, yes, but do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Calm down? If I were on hold for 5 minutes let alone 20 and then hanging up on him. Can you say CHARGEBACK?:|

People take waaaay to much sh1t today... thats why CS sucks. Public continue to buy and cater to crappy businesses.

Well I am going up there tomorrow with her info to figure out what the problem is.
I am willing to bet it will get resolved when I speak to the RMA manager.

Tell them to go to Japan to learn how to treat customers.

You didn't know that they sent you a different cpu? Aren't oem cpus boxed differently?

Anyways, sometimes good company make up their minds about customers real quick and there is nothing you could do to change their mind once that happens.

I rma a mb, cpu and case to newegg several months back. Packed and insurred everything. They said the package came undamage and unopened. They said the cpu and mb was not there. They were real negative from the start....to make things short I ended up eating the cost.

Fight it out with Visa.

Interesting. My original thread is back up again. I'm not going crazy. I know I looked several times for the original thread, and could not find it. I was going to post to it again.

Anyway, it's here. That is not a current reply.

I started a new thread here, when I couldn't find the old thread...

That is quite funny. Monarch apperas to be good at shipping fast, but you may or may not get the right product. Then if you complain about something, people jump on here to defend them because they got their item in 2 days. BFD!! They sent you the wrong product, and now are giving you crap about asking to receive what you actually paid for?
Monarch needs to rectify this fast!

Honestly, if they continue to give you crap and it seems like they aren't treating you with the respect and courtesy you deserve, then I'd give em hell back.

Well it seems like they replied to your post over at MC and it seems like they want to get this resolved. Good luck bro.

If you bought a retail boxed CPU and they sent an OEM trayed CPU instead they made the mistake and you either need a new CPU (postage paid due to the mistake), or a refund after you send it back. That's simple customer service.

Good businesses know that for every 1 customer miffed by bad CS, that customer will tell at least 10 others how crappy they are. So it behooves good businesses to not let that happen. In the age of the internet, it can be many more than 10 others being notified.

Once complained about the delay of a service from a vender, and the defenders hopped in saying it's fine to wait 72 hours. Only when the thread got longer that vender's representatives came on and gave excuses like the help department crew were out due to a flu. Yeah, and I was "out" with oral surgery that week but despite that pain had to get my work done. Asked for a refund on the spot, because excuses like that is unacceptable for a national vender (for a national company needs more than 3 people manning CS 24/7, and it's a clear sign requests won't be answered in a timely manner even if they were all well).

It's your money. If they give you the run around return the product and ask for a refund. Then go to a business that will treat you like you're they're only customer -- yeah they might charge $10 more for a product, but that's $10 less in RMA shipping too. :/

EXACTLY!
So many customers just take it that they see no benefit to dealing with customers who have reasonable expectations.

I would have flipped my lid had I had this experience AND gotten shoddy CS after the fact.

Monarch may well make this situation right but it will not refund your time or patience.

zebo is right.. people need to stand up for their rights. or else they will keep screwing people up.

and yes if a store does screw someone, with the internet now MANY people will know about it and WILL avoid them in the future.

Customer service should be the #1 priority of any business.

I would call them on the phone if they do not resolve it completely..be polite. then ask for a full refund with prepackage shipping by them. If they refuse contact Visa

Visa(all cc take this tuff very serious and work on your behalf)...you have all the proof you need...copy of your order, the packing slip and what you got. They will dispute the charge and give the vendor a chance to correct it properly...big hassle for the company from expense standpoint I am sure
Not to mention the fact sometimes they ignore the chargeback and it is just removed from your bill

BTW I agree CS sucks today...any you should not take this period...but you should not have installed the CPU unless you did not know the difference between retail and oem....or maybe I am wrong and you bought a prebuilt combo from them? If so this is real crap and somewhat deceptive on their....yea sure human error

if you buy prebuilt it takes them longer to build and ship they have to get it right or they need to fix it without question.....

if this is a prebuilt I would demand a refund and go elsewhere

wow read your thread..that is BS and I would never buy from them a cpu/mobo combo...no trust that they will not "mistakenly" put in wrong cpu.....this needs to be fixed

I posted at Monarch..I will not buy again till I know they have good CS....this is very disappointing and taking way to long for a resolution

I bought a MB & CPU combo from them to get the free Far cry.

That is why I didn't know at first that it wasn't the rite CPU (the CPU was already installed on the MB, under the HSF). With a Winchester vs Newcastle, and absolutely no packaging, the only way to truly know the difference (with absolute certainty) is to go by the CPU codes on the IHS.

Funny thing is that I've never bought a "combo" before. I also never will again. I don't care what free stuff anyone offers.

The RMA manager is supposed to call me today, which I somehow doubt will happen. They have said they were going to call previously, and didn't.

I have never bought anything from Monarch and never will. Period. Newegg, Staples, and ZZF get my business.

Wait, you bought the combo thinking they would put the Winchester in there for NewCastle prices? I don't see how people can do this & think they are in the right. Sorry but I am not going to make a fool out of myself defending you in person when you made the mistake, not them. Good luck to you though, hope it works out for you.

I bought a (90nm) Retail Winchester & K8N Neo2 combo. I paid a premium for a 90nm CPU that I did not receive. That is what this whole thread has been about...

The invoice says:
Combo AMD Athlon 64 (939)
MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum
AMD Athlon 64 3500 90nm 939

BTW I posted a monarch and I want to see them respond and show there concern for the customer...my experience was very good on a PSU purchase but this goes to their integrity since they built the combo and "screwed up"....they need to make it right

Monarch called me...

They said they will be cross shipping me only a retail Winchester CPU in the retail box (without a motherboard), which is what I asked for.

They have said they were going to ship me a new CPU previously, so we'll see.

I'm hopeful that they will keep their word this time. However, I remain somewhat skeptical because of what happened the first time.

I'm sure this thread had something to do with that. they'd like it disappear I'm sure...

Good job being proactive.
