This is why I want the death penalty in Canada (I know it's not in Canada, but you'll find such cases here). There are times when I look at the actions of a person and say "I do not want you in my society, I do not want to forgive".

For a person, without mental illness, to knowingly and willingly commit such acts is beyond forgiveness.

What's the difference? Give them the death penalty & they will spend 20 years sitting in prison waiting out all the endless appeals, before let off on a technicality. Might as well just give them 20 years and save the additional expenses.

Are they a threat to society? I'd say the litmus is not whether we forgive them.

Jaskalas - again your ignorance shines through like a lighthouse light in the dead of night

so all white collar criminals should get minimal sentences because they aren't a 'threat to society'?

what about for the damage they have done to that little girl?
