I considered Everquest, but isn't an internet connection required for that one? Her computer isn't connected to the internet; long story, but we have good reason for yanking her internet access.

Now I'm really curious to know why her Internet was yanked. Could you elaborate?

Let's just say she was feeding her 'dark side' online. NOT IN MY HOUSE YOU DONT!

She's on a strict diet of wholesome entertainment these days, hence the G Raged computer game.

uhh... she can feed her dark side any time she wants in school. You can try to shelter her at home, but she'll just be off having sex with her boyfriend while dealing crack elsewhere.

My recommendations are: (as said before) Neighbor From Hell or Pirates!

Both good games, nothing subversive about either one.

Another vote for City of Heroes.

It probably has the most real life females I've ever seen in a MMORPG, IMO. And can you blame them? The vast number of possible costume variations are quite fashion oriented. Plus the body scalers & new costume options in I4 will jack it up even more.

She's Bipolar, a compulsive liar, and most likely schizophrenic. She's been inpatient at a mental institution twice since she was twelve, and we can't do any family activities without her wigging out. She also can't be left at home alone or she will break into our rooms, and still our jewlery, and prescriptions. she's threatened her older and younger sisters with knives, and tells her teachers at school that my wife does NOT have Multiple Sclerosis and is just faking it for attention. It's unlikely she will ever lead a good life outside in the 'real world' but we Love her, and try to do our best to make her happy, as difficult as that is. That does not include giving her free access to all the $hit on the internet, or every gory zombie movie, or game.

Now with that said, I'm going to delete the OP, and hopefully get this locked. I appreciate the good suggestions, and I'll read up on the pirate game. I apologize if I sound a little touchy about this, but I am.

I knew there was more to the story. That's why when someone asks for something simple as a game suggestion you really don't need to know the whole life story or start questioning why he only wants G rated games. Just give you suggestion for a game and the STFU.

Exactly my thoughts when he said she played Myst. Get THE LONGEST JOURNEY! It's an old game now, and graphics are pretty dated, but it's still fun as hell... and the main character you play is a girl as well. Best story of any videogame i've ever played.

Simcity4k?

morrowing is a really open ended rpg, not really violent. You will need the patch for it to run well.

I'm sure theres lots of games out there.

Seriously, this guy didn't ask for criticism of his parenting style. If you disagree with it, you might as well just be quiet because I seriously doubt he's going to change his style based on your opinion.
Quoted for truth, the man asked for game suggestions, not parenting or religious ones.

I have to say I'm somewhat baffled though as to what the problem is with the Sims - the game is about as clean as it gets  You just got a flat "no" from your wife? No explanation or discussion?

Of course, but the same holds true with any discussion here on OT.

That's why it's a discussion, or argument.

We still say what we believe, because theres a chance that what we say clicks, nomatter how slight.. and that makes it worth it.

As for the games, KOTOR is pretty great, unless as a previous poster mentioned being Jedi leads to the occult type of ideas. With the problems she's dealing with, would role-playing games of any sort be a help, or a descent into something else I wonder?

Strategy games ... like Starcraft (cheap! :) and brilliant), Sim City type games rather than the Sim-people games might be pretty interesting for her. Does she dig any sports?

well, in all honesty she would prolly kill every family, raise them and then box each and everyone into a corner and watch them suffer and die.

Thanks for the backstory. No need to delete the thread or anything...

This makes it much more clear, and we should all appologize. We were all under the assumption that she was mentally normal.

That changes everything.

:)

There is no reason why this thread can't continue on. I don't think it should be locked. Now that we know the whole story, we may be able to recommend even better games for your daughter.

It was not a mistake. We just didn't know the whole story.......

I think the Sims would be a good choice. I don't see what would be objectionable about it.

Sorry about your daughter.
