I hope it's not htis guy :Q ;) [work safe]

But seriously........ good idea to meet in a neutral location. Maybe find one of those big ass chess boards in the park where the peices are like 3 feet tall :D

Cheers,

Getting laid is the last thing I'm looking for (seriously!). :) I don't really get a rush from the danger involved, and have never gone out with anyone feeling nervous or anxious... I guess I just like meeting new people and trying new things...?

Glad to hear you changed it to a neutral location. Have fun!

Thanks, Citrix. :) I e-mailed him asking if we can just meet for dessert somewhere, and hopefully he'll be okay with that...

Honey, you're playing Russian Roulette if you go to his place first.

Is there any reason you can't play chess at a coffee shop or a public park?

I suggested a coffee shop, but neither of us know of any... and he says the chess set he has is a heavy marble one that isn't transportable.

Not the old "my chess set is marble" line! I thought that went out with 8 Tracks and "what's your sign?" :)

LOL....

Oh, and thanks Rob... I think I'll swing by Walmart after work to see if they have any on sale. :)

another vote for starbucks. In nyc, there are hundreds of these coffee shops, so it's easy to find relatively empty shops which provide both comfortable settings, privacy, and chess sets :). I prefer the neutral setting as well (I just like the social dynamic).

You like neutral dynamic? :) j/k

No. I prefer the setting to be neutral. The social dynamic is less weighted in one particular direction (but certainly not neutral). :D

Pics of the guy (he looks nice and normal)... here's what he sent. I can't tell whether or not they're photochopped, but I only recognize two of the people in them...

Not sure who the guy on the left is.

I think he looks good here, not sure who the guy on the left is.

He looks like their dad here (Mandy Moore and sis?).

I think that's the only fit Fred Durst wears.

Thanks to those of you who offered suggestions/etc... once again, this is why I  ATOT. Even with all the neffing and arguing, I think we really do care about each other as a community...

Dunno about the metrosexual thing, but he looks good to me.

Every starbucks I've been to (~60) has had chess sets.

Out of curiousity, are most of the new people that you meet guys?

Of the last 10, 6 have been guys. I'm meeting a girl named Roobee at a house club this Saturday... we'll probably go grab a bite to eat beforehand.

I fail to see how such a topic merits so much discussion...in such a short amount of time...haha.

You've also failed to notice that this topic was generated by a female, and also one that would go out with a stranger over emails....

He's really cute, he doesn't seem like the murderer type. I'd say go for it, worst case scenario, he's a creep who's only after one thing: chess.

Seriously though, seems like he'd normally be out of your league, what a cutie.
