I think what you're doing is really stupid. I'm not saying this to offend you - that's just my honest opinion. Getting laid is the last thing I'm looking for (seriously!). I don't really get a rush from the danger involved, and have never gone out with anyone feeling nervous or anxious... I guess I just like meeting new people and trying new things...?

Another vote for meeting at a coffee shop. Better to spend $20 on a decent portable chess set (hey, you'll want to play in the future, right?) and be safe. As a guy, I'd understand if you explained that you weren't comfortable meeting in private on a first meeting.
