Just curious, I'm rushing sigma alpha epsilon (SAE) in the spring, an was wondering if anyone 'round here was an brother or alumnus. any other fraternities or sororities feel free to post here as well!

NOTE: if you are anti-greek, and are just going to threadcrap by posting another "didnt need to buy my friend post" Ameesh, Electric Amish, and others beat you to it. Now leave.

GDI, thank you very much although I did spend my fair share of time hanging around the Phi Delta Theta house since 90% of my freshman hall ended up brothers there. Free beer and all that. :D

Beta Theta Pi (Beta) @ UMD graduated in May '99. Mind if I ask what campus? SAE is very strong nationally. Should be a blast.

I spend all my money on computers so I don't have enough to buy my friends.

I'm proud to say I was a member of Phi Delta Theta. Joining the fraternity was probably the best decision I've ever made (fraternities on a small liberal arts school's campus are VERY different than at a large school).

I graduated in '99 and I'm still involved with the fraternity. Almost all of my closest friends were members as well.

Pi Kappa Alpha at RPI, graduated in '94. Joining the fraternity was one of the best decisions I made in college.

I was an SAE at Cornell over 10 years ago and I still keep in touch with brothers from the house. The important thing is to not go by reputation alone but look at the other guys you're going to be joining with. Another thing to consider is the number of brothers. When I joined there were about 40 guys in the house but by the time I graduated there were close to 100. It was still great but not as personal.

Have fun, make friends and don't forget to do well enough in school to graduate :)

SAE chapter at University of West Florida is where i'm rushing. right nw there are 15 or so actives, plus nine neophytes, and most people think all or almost all of the neophytes will be initiated.
as far as reputation: i didnt actually now about sae's reputation nationally until about a two or three weeks ago, but i've been running around with the pldges (2 of whom are my best friends, and most of the rest i'm pretty good friends with) for about 2months. i made up my mind to rush way before i realized how big SAE is.
as far as grades go: i've got a 3.78, taking cal 1, chem1 w/ lab, introduction to anthropology, and great books (literature course on greek clasics), next semester i will take technical writing, introduction to computer information systems (accelerated c++ programming), chem 2 (no lab, and cal 2. only have classes on tues and thursday!!

If anyone is curious about my school or the local SAE chapter:
UWF
SAE @ UWF page needs to be updated with the new pledges, and the neophytes listed are brothers now

i'm staying away from fraternities. the way i see it, i've already become cool with a lot of guys from different ones, so i can get into any party they throw for free anyway. that is, if i want to sink to the level of a frat party...

I rushed a couple and got bids from them but I love my dorm to much to leave. It's about 100 yards from classes and our double is about 16x17 with a bay window that fits both our desks. I still go and hang out at Phi Kappa Theta everynow and then though.
