I'm trying to switch over to Win2K professional, but I can't get my modem to work in it. The setup guide hints that it should work, but doesn't say it. It says that the instructions are for Win95/98 instalation, but in the minimum requirements it lists Win2K, so I don't even know if it will work in it. I'm about ready to pull my friggin hair out. It's a good modem, US Robotics, Win2K has lots of drivers for this brand, but not this one. I install the drivers from the CD, and it says that there is an error. Okay. It's a PCI modem. In my Win98 setup it calls the slot I have it in COM2. In Win2K it will only install it in COM1. It doesn't even recognize COM2, and I can't get it to. COM1 is a serial port and I can't very well put a PCI modem on that. If you think you can help I will give more info, I'm just so frustrated right now that I can't explain this well I'm affraid. By the way I checked and there is no updated driver. I just bought this modem new a couple of weeks ago and it was $100, so I'm pretty upset that it apparently is incompatible with Win2K. Anyway if you think you can help please do. Thanks.
