I can't get my friend's modem to work. She doesn't have it's drivers and I can't figure out which model it is. I need to find the drivers for the damn thing, so if anyone can help, please do.
It's a PCI card with a Motorola chip (that has this codes printed on: 62412-51 / U52024.2-0.6 / 0007). In the back side there's a sticker saying Model No.: A-SM56 TP AC.
I tried to use Motorola's SM56 Drivers, but it won't work (error 630). My friend said to me she always used some drivers that came w/ the MoBo (it's a SiS 630 renamed to GFXCel), but they only install a driver for a HSP56 MicroModem, and Windows adverts me that the driver isn't made for the device I'm using it with.
This may be a BIOS config problem, I took a look at it and there's a lot of Integrated Peripherals (Modem, Video, Audio, Ethernet). I don't know if I have to enable the onboard Modem in order for the PCI Modem to work.
The system has Windows Millenium installed.
