Delta Recruit event is back for Star Trek Online. If you play an missed it last time they did it (3 years ago), I'd highly recommend logging in and doing it. Short version: You're creating a new character to provide account wide unlocks for all your other current and future characters. For maximum rewards you want to create one new character for each faction (FED/KDF/ROM), but one toon is sufficient for most of the rewards. You do not need to max them out during the event, simply progress them far enough to get the Delta Recruit flag, which is at the end of the tutorial which for some reason they are forcing you to play. There is a slight incentive to play them while the event is ACTIVE though (dilithium for killing enemies). You can delete the extra characters once you're done.

Full reward list is here: https://www.arcgames.com/en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/9116343

Between Delta Recruit and Temporal Agent (later similar event), that gets you roughly 500 fleet marks and 2,500 reputation marks for free on every toon you ever make once you hit 50. Suspicion is with the upcoming expansion this summer there's probably going to be a 3rd one of these events at that time.

It's also a good time to start playing STO. Besides the above, your Delta Recruit will get some nice leveling gear that new characters normally do not get.

STO is truly F2P. All of the story content and the end-game queues can be done with free ships and free loot drops, though nearing endgame you can choose to pay cash monies for nicer endgame ships. Other cash shop unlocks are cosmetic.

^that's complete spam. I played some version of "MU" about 10 years ago. It's utter grinding-griefing, P2W crap. 10 years real-time to level your toon enough just to be able to walk out of a hub and not be ganked at the front door (by the devs), or just a mere 50 bucks to do it right now!

lol: avoid Mu like it's chlamydia.

Elder Scrolls Online, which is a fine MMO, has an event where if you buy the Summerset expansion by I think Oct 7 (double check), you will get a free pet/mount/house because the players did an event to get them for all the owners. People say the mount and house would otherwise be worth $25-$30 each as I understand.

The expansions are on sale right now as well - on Steam, the Elder Scrolls website, the best deals seem to be on Green Man Gaming if you have 'VIP' there where it's an extra 20% off on top of the sale. That puts the expansion about $22 and the expansion+base game a little under $30.

Noob & chlamydia is easy to treat. The test for it is entirely a different story.

Elder Scrolls Online is free to play on the company website until about April 13 or Steam until Apr 7, and on sale for $7.99, a huge value.
