I just found out that all of the DS games are on TBS. When the hell did they get the deal?

Cablevision doesnt carry TBSHD;

Will local teams games be shown on local affiliates? How would non-cable subscribers get the games??

uh, do you really need baseball in HD?
some people listen to baseball on the radio you know, not too much visual, it is like no-"D" and you can still follow the game

Thats a stupid comment if I ever heard one.

So why do you need any TV sitcoms in HD then? Why do you need anything in HD?

Some watch on TV. Some watch in person. Some listen on the radio. Some people dont watch baseball at all. I dont care what is on TV, I want to watch it in HD if its shot in HD.

man i hope he stays

I've followed him since he was playing minor league ball. Still have one of his minor league baseball cards that's signed in my closet.

I really wanted it from the card shop but had no money (I was 10 I think at the time). So the card shop owner put it on law-away for me. Every week I'd give him $5, and after a couple of weeks I had my card.

I am really glad y'all took Mark Texiera off our hands, I hope that y'all have as many prospects as you think in your system cause you sure gave us some good ones. Jon Daniels redeemed himself with that and the Gagne (pronounced GAG-KNEE if you live in TX) trade.

Seeing as he is still one of the top 3 highest paid players on our team (maybe 2, I can't remember for sure) yes. Yes I am. Since we are finally putting some pieces together it would be nice if Tom Sucks I mean Hicks could spend some money on pitching.

Although realistically, there is no way in hell he extends, right? I mean even if he wants to stay with the yankees he can get more money out of them than he is now, especially with the season he has had, I think.

I dont see how he doesnt become a FA at the end of the World Series. Whether he comes back to the Yankees or not. Unless the Yanks maybe blow him out of the water with a crazy extension, which wouldnt be out of the question since TX is paying some of that contract anyway...

And Tom Hicks is too interested in his Liverpool FC franchise over in England to worry about your Rangers pitching woes! They are going to win the Premiership this year!

LOL yeah I hate Tom Hicks, what a moron. Maybe I am just spoiled by Cuban and Jerry Jones though. Hopefully JD will find us some pitching.

We will see, however I think (knowing AROD's agent) he will become a free agent.

I think that deal was announced last year, when they also informed the world that there would be no more Braves national telecasts.

And long ago MLB said screw you to people that don't get cable. The way that they've bounced the Division Series from one network to the next over the last 10 years is ridiculous.

Yea TBS does have an HD, but its not carried in philly as well. Pretty shitty deal we are getting with this. Baseball not in HD BLOWS.

as a fellow die hard braves fan i am confused. the teixeira trade was great and as for andruw....see ya if thats the way it turns out. yes he is one of the greatest defensive outfielders to ever play the game but how many times has he failed in the clutch, esp the post season. i am tired of him walking to first and not listening to the batting coach which results in his repeatedly falling on his ass after trying to jack the ball out on every single pitch.

Baseball and football are far and away the best things to watch in HD, the edge, IMO, going to baseball.

DirecTV just turned on TBS in HD (along with about 30 other channels) this morning....Baseball Division series in glorious High Definition😀

you know there are millions of us mere mortals that still have "normal/old fashioned" TV's

i guess i am in the equivalent to a 3rd world country when it comes to TV technology since I haven't dropped $2000 for a HD TV on my credit card

I really did not like trading away our grade A prospects for Tex. Sure he's pretty darn good, but we don't need a stud 1B. We need pitching. That's what got us over a decade of Division titles. It's also why we haven't made the post season this season and last. Hudson is great, but Hampton being out killed us. Not to mention we didn't have anything solid to fill out the rest of the rotation.

As for Andruw, I hate to see him go (he's my favorite player in baseball), but he's not worth the price he's asking. He's a stud in center, but he shouldn't be commanding $15mil+ a year. His offensive performance is so damn erratic and like you said, he doesn't listen.

Yea..no TBS HD for us Cablevision guys. Maybe they can show the games on TNT HD? Probably not though I'm sure TNT HD has its own viewership. The announce crew of Chip Caray, Joe Simpson, Don Sutton, Steve Stone, Tony Gwynn..etc..doesn't sound so hot either. Ted Robinson who did Mets games a couple of years and also does US Open Tennis stuff is good. I'll assume that Tim McCarver and Joe Buck will do the Fox telecasts. Cal Ripkin, Frank Thomas and a couple of more guys will do pre and post game stuff.

If you win the world series this year, I stand corrected. Other than that good luck trying to get him to stay, we offered him $18/year and he turned us down. Looks like it's LA, LA, NY, NY, or Boston for him.

It's just with the position yall were in, I wouldn't have gone world series or bust. I don't think y'all were good enough that Tex would put you over the top.

To me (not as knowledgable as either of you braves fans), the way y'all have been winning is developing an incedible farm system (especially pitching) and consistently having good prospects coming into the majors. I wouldn't have jeopardized that for a 1.5 year merc.
